An Attack Begins

Fei quickly sprinted towards where the audience sits, looking for where her friends were sitting, spotting Sakura talking with their sensei.

"Hey there! You're back; later than late!" Fei shouted as if trying to scold him. She couldn't contain her excitement at seeing her teammate and teacher back stronger than ever. She grinned as she continued, "Honestly, what were you guys thinking...sheesh."

"Good to see you too, Fei," their sensei chuckled as he ruffled her hair, "Sorry, it looks like I missed your match. How did it go?"

"Ugh! Don't even remind me! It went terribly! I didn't get to fight at all 'cause she forfeit!" Fei yelled out, looking at the railing where her opponent was.

"Why?" He asked nonchalantly, glancing where Fei looked.

"I don't know, but I hate her!!" Fei hollered, annoyed.

"Hmm, that's too bad." He commented, looking at their surroundings.

'Strange. First, all the anbu surrounding the arena, next, two participants forfeiting. The girl Fei was meant to fight...what is she planning. After all that talk in the preliminaries...' He thought to himself.

"I know!" Fei shouted as she heard Naruto shout.

"Sensei, stop this fight right now! That guy, he's totally different from us!! He's not normal!!"

"What do you mean?" Fei asked, worried.

"He lives to kill others!! At this rate, Sasuke will die!!"

"What?" Fei stammered, looking back at the match. Her sensei and Naruto went back and forth before continuing to watch the match.

Fei watched with anxiety, as she hadn't seen her best friend so terrified before. What did he see? Before she could even think about it, feathers began appearing in front of her, "What...?" She began to sway, and before she knew it, she was fast asleep.

"Help! Help me!!" She saw her very young self, this time around 5, squirm in someone's grasp. These people had cloth covering their mouths but wore casual attire as they panted away from the heavy shopping district. The frenzied shouting of her father and other members of the crowd could be heard from down the alleyway.

'Oh this... I don't really remember this much. All I know was that it was an attempted kidnapping. Just thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach...' she looked at what was happening, 'So, let's see what occurred...' Fei murmured to herself as she watched on.

"Shut up, kid!! We're told we'd be getting big bucks out of you! So quiet up if you don't wanna get hurt!!" One snarled, causing her to shrivel up in fear as she sobbed.

"Daddy!! Daddy, help me!! I don't wanna go with these people!!!" She shrieked as she flailed. It seemed that was enough for the one carrying her, as she was roughly thrown to the ground. She yelped as she curled up.

"Yo, what're you doing?! Relax! We gotta turn her over in one piece!" one guy said but was ignored.

"We told you to shut up, didn't we?" He said as he raised his hand, "This is what happens when you don't listen!" And right as he was about to slap her, a dagger sliced the tip of his middle finger, causing him to curse and recoil in pain.

"Hey, what the- who the hell are you, brat? Her brother or something?" One thug shouted as he readied his weapon: a pipe. Fei turned to see the boy again, little Shiro, dressed in ninja attire, a loose scarf around his neck that covered his mouth and nose. He also wore combat boots, with a pouch on his right thigh and bat in his hands.
