Trapped (Pt. 2)

Fei awoke groggily, staring at the bars of her cell for a moment before getting up. She had developed a small routine now, wake up, clean as much as you can of yourself, wait for them to take a blood sample, and maybe expect that boy to swing by her cell. There was no other expectation.

When the maroon haired boy did come by, he was either glaring at her with irritation or looking away. She couldn't understand why. This bizarre series of choices irked her, making her feel like she couldn't predict his next move. He was hard to read. Today, it looked like the boy was coming in early, already agitated. Instead of glaring at her from afar, he decided to speak.

"Having you right in front of me and yet having to hold myself back... Damn!!" He snarled as he looked at her. Fei had long stopped cowering at his presence, only fearing when he got too close. She was still afraid, but it was becoming repetitive. She stared at him before speaking herself.

"I don't know what's holding you back. If you want to tear into me, what's stopping you? Do you really need the likes of me for your special little powers to work, hm?" Fei taunted, perhaps a bad idea, but she couldn't help herself.

"I could wipe the smirk off of your face this instant if they let me. However, they have a point. You are useful; having you here serves as a reminder of what I need to do," he smirked at her, inching slightly closer, "I need to kill that clan of yours. Make sure they never see the light of day again..."

"Don't you dare bring my family into this! I don't know what your deal is, but they've done nothing wrong!! Whatever's going on is happening just between you and me!"

The boy stared at her in disbelief before laughing. It was not a regular laugh but hysterical. His loud bellows echoed through her cell as she felt the heat surrounding him suddenly increase.

"Hahaha, you're an idiot. An ignorant fool," He told her, causing her to clench her fist, "Just between you and me? Don't be ridiculous. You're just a portal to the one I want. This feud of ours, it extends long past just us. This is far greater than you, you stupid girl."

"Argh!! Shut up, you arrogant dickhead!! Just who do you think you are, insulting me, threatening my family?! Keeping me locked up?! I hate seeing you!!" the boy walked up to her cage and gripped her face tightly by her cheeks, applying a slight heat that made her hiss. Fei's eyes widened as she feared for her safety. Still, she snarled back, grabbing his arm as she pulled off him. Shiro only gripped tighter and forced her to look at him.

She could see his eyes turned into slits, the very center being a bright red. His eyes were also narrower, giving them a strange sense of maturity, "Your class has no such permission to speak to me like that! I am an inmortal being with the power to incinerate you in a blink of an eye. Yet, I'm trapped in a mortal vessel of a weak willed boy. All because of you and your damned family. If he were someone else, I would've long seen you dead!! The only reason I don't kill you now is because you coax me out of his shell." The boy released his grip, Fei flopping slightly as she winced. She rubbed her cheek as she looked at him.

"I- I don't care what you are, Shiro! Immortal being, ninja, asshole, I don't care!! You're not touching my family!!" Fei yelled, glaring at him in the eyes, "I don't get this hateful vitriol you have against my family or whatever happened to you before, but you're not touching the people that I care for!! That I love!! I'd rather die and take you with me than let that happen! You hear me?!" There was a pause between them before he spoke.

"You're strange for being part of the Renka. You don't have that look of nothing they carry with them. If I hadn't known any better, I would think you another girl. But your stupidity and weakness only serve to tell me how much they've likely fallen. Easier to kill, perhaps. And don't confuse me for the boy. Him and me... we are nothing alike." And he walked off, huffing hot steam towards Fei that made her hiss and become annoyed.
