Chapter 27: Unexpected person

 "I'll end this now!!" The chimera creator shouted.

Jasmine continued to dodge the tentacles to no end. Many of the tentacles started to explode, making it harder for Jasmine dodge. She observed the great power coming from the attacks that the man launched. Thankfully, during the time she used dodging, Jasmine had already saved up enough magic to be able to deal with him.

"PLAYTIME IS OVER!!" The man shouted.

The tentacles wrapped around Jasmine, narrowly missing her leg. Because of this, she was able to teleport behind a tree, out of the man's sight.

"WHERE ARE YOU HIDING?!"

"Phew..." Jasmine sighed in relief, "Dark dimension"

The man turned around to see a light purple barrier forming around him, he realized that Jasmine was trying to trap him in her domain.

"You think that a mere barrier... WILL HOLD ME DOWN?!!"

The man launched an attack on Jasmine. Tentacles wrapped around the tree, slowly tugging it down, Jasmine protected herself with chains.

"Shit... to think that he would add magic to the chimera's ability..."

"You're holding out longer than I expected." The man observed, "Then what about this-"

"What is it this time?" Jasmine asked from behind him.

The man launched more tentacles at Jasmine from behind. He glanced back at Jasmine who was also on the tree.

"WHAT?! I'm sure that you were down there!!"

"Can't you tell?" The Jasmine flying in the air pointed to the one on the tree branch, "That's the real me!"

Jasmine had used a class 4 magic spell named Doppelganger. It was an ability made a copy of oneself that could use the same abilities and spells. Once the two of the people lock gazes, one of the two will cease to exist.

"The reason you lost was because you were unable to properly find out your opponents abilities!" Jasmine smiled, "You rotten corpse~"

"WHAT?!" The man watched as his flesh started to rot.

"What do you mean "what?"It's magic! Your body is going to start to rot away!"

"Such petty tricks will be nothing once I-"

"That's why I prepared something else! Black orb!" Jasmine formed a dark sphere in her hand.

"What're you scheming-"

Many dark spheres similar to the one in Jasmine's hand appeared around the man. They slowly approached the man, morphing together with him. Once they did, they started to rot the skin on his body away.

"AHHHHHHH!!!" The man screamed.

"How does it feel to have your flesh rot away?" Jasmine smiled at the man.

"You- YOU FUCKING BITCH!!"

"Oh dear, looks like it wasn't enough~" Jasmine snickered, "Gravity."

The man fell to the floor with a thud. This caused an explosion due to the large mass of tentacles surrounding him. Jasmine landed and walked over to the man.

"Oh yeah! Blair, good job! You can rest now!" Jasmine's wings fell off as she held Blair in her hands.

"My... body..." The man struggled.

"Just the pain itself would normally send one into shock~ So, I sure do wonder how much you modified your body!" Jasmine smiled, "Looks like I can't make you my servant though... well, the information in your head is still worth something!"

Jasmine reached over the man's forehead. Hovering over it as she casted a spell.

"No... the chimeras..." The man groaned.

"Kuuu..." Two voices growled behind the man.

Jasmine jumped back, she hadn't realized that the man still had more chimeras in his arsenal. These two were dark blue and had no face. They were shaped like humans but had large spiky tails. Jasmine realized she had miscalculated; she had used up too much mana before, so it resulted in a less than optimal result.

"Ha..." Jasmine sighed, "You little..."

Jasmine blew on her finger, adding more mana to it before pointing at the man and shooting a blast of black magic in his direction; piercing him in the chest. After the chimera creator had fallen to the ground, Jasmine wondered what she would do about the two chimeras in front of her.

"Ugh..." Ricky groaned as he kept walking deeper into the forest.

He felt queasier the farther he ventured. However, something told him that he had to walk deeper into the forest.

Suddenly, there was an explosion that came from behind him. He looked back to see smoke in the air, a battle clearly going on.

"I should go back..." Ricky started to walk away.

As he started running, another explosion happened behind him. This time, a hooded figure with shining emerald hair was flung back onto the ground.

"Kyaa!" Jasmine cried as she was whipped away by one of the chimeras.

Jasmine had used up too much of her energy earlier, so she didn't have enough mana to even form a low level shield.

Ricky stood from a distance, he recognized Jasmine's emerald hair color. What was Jasmine doing in the forest?

"Now, die." The chimera creator waved to one of the chimeras.

The chimera raised an arm, forming an orb as it was about to use it to destroy Jasmine.

"NO! JASMINE!!" Ricky ran over to Jasmine.

"Ricky...?" Jasmine turned her head over, "YOU IDIOT! GET OUT OF THE WAY!!"
