Count Simon's first son Alf stared at Jasmine. Observing that Jasmine had silky emerald hair, she walked elegantly and carefully to avoid people. Her eyes were a similar color as her hair, except that they were tinted slightly purple. She wore a white coat that draped down past her knees. Everything about her seemed beautiful and elegant, he wanted her.
"What did you think of the Earl's daughter, father?" Alf asked.
"Why are you interested in a 10-year old girl?" Earl Simon countered.
"She may be young now but it's possible that she'll become the next Earl." Alf pointed out, "Wouldn't it be better to get acquainted at a young age?"
Earl Simon sighed, "She's a bright child."
"Is there anything else you can tell me about her?"
"Bring me my aperitif." The Earl ordered a servant.
"Yes of course, right away." The servant hurried away.
"Get along well with them, our family has been in an alliance with them for a long time." Alf's mother reminded him.
"Of course mother, don't worry." Alf smiled.
Alf had no plans to not get along with Jasmine. However, if she did not bow down to him he would have to show her who was boss.
"As expected of my son." Earl Simon complemented sarcastically, however, Alf did not realize this.
Alf's younger brother looked at him with disgust, "Hmmph."
Skip some time and go to Jasmine's perspective...
"Make sure to make friends, alright?" Jasmine's mother told her.
"Of course mother!" Jasmine smiled.
Jasmine was in no mood to make friends, she wanted some time alone already.
Jasmine walked outside, away from the ballroom. She observed the decorations, realizing that the Earl had talent for not only magic, but business as well. She observed a few of the flowers in the garden, making a few of the wilting one's bloom again.
"How beautiful... I wonder when I'll be able to see the full extent of-"
"Who are you talking to?" someone appeared behind Jasmine.
Jasmine could not recognize their presence, because of this, she was startled. She pulled out a sword made of mana, pointing it at the neck of the person who approached her. He flinched back, seemingly very scared.
"Tsk..." Jasmine sighed and retracted her sword.
"P-phew," The boy sighed in relief, "How could you do that so suddenly?!"
"Why did you talk behind me so suddenly?" Jasmine crossed her arms.
"Doing that to someone is so rude!" The boy shouted.
"You should feel lucky I didn't stab someone."
"Ugh..."
"So, who are you?" Jasmine looked at the boy.
The boy had canary yellow hair and coral colored eyes. He wore a light blue vest with a red ribbon on top, he seemed about Jasmine's age or a bit younger.
"Me? Are you curious about me?" The boy laughed, "Hmm... should I tell you or not? I don't really want to tell you since you shocked me just now!"
Jasmine sighed, "Look, I'm not in the mood to fool around."
Jasmine pointed at the ground, shooting an air bullet at the ground, cracking it.
"That's a second class air bullet," Jasmine pointed out, "If you don't have high enough magic resistance it can easily pierce through your skin, I'm sure it would be instant death for a kid like you."
The boy looked at Jasmine, realizing that she was serious, the boy began to panic.
"Do you still not feel like answering?" Jasmine put a hand on her hip.
"NO! NO! I really want to answer you, wait!" The boy started to panic.
"Hurry up and tell me before I shoot..." Jasmine sighed.
"I'm Ash Valle! Ash Valle!" The boy shouted.
"Valle? The Viscount family of Valle?" Jasmine asked.
"Yeah! I'm the second son and an elementalist!"
"Elementalist?"
Elementalists were very rare. They were people who could make contracts with elemental spirits. Being an elementalist was a very outstanding skill, just for existing they could be given the title of Baron. This little boy is an elementalist?! Elementalist's could easily hide their presence, which is why Jasmine could not sense the child approaching her.
"Hey! Shouldn't you introduce yourself? Who're you to be using such dangerous magic?!" Ash asked.
"Me?"
"That's right! Who else would I be talking to?!"
Jasmine smiled, "I'm Jasmine Welton, the eldest child of the Welton family. Nice to meet you Ash Valle!"
One thing about Viscount Valle is that he's one of the most loyal subordinates to the Welton family.
"Eeeeeehhhh?!"
"Cough! Cough!" A man coughed up blood on the floor.
"I let your gang be because I was uninterested. And actually it had some positive effect." Earl Welton said.
The Earl kicked the man on the floor, making him vomit more blood.
"But you dare operate a human trafficking business in my land?" The Earl glared at the man, "So I guess you want to die, huh? I guess I can grant you that wish."
"P-please don't kill me..." The man begged.
The Earl turned around and sighed, "Hang him tomorrow." He ordered the knights.
"Understood!" The knight said.
"Prepare a carriage," The Earl ordered, "I'll be departing immediately."
"Yes sir!" Responded another knight.
From the distance, a hooded figure sat from a tree, wearing a disappointed look as he watched the criminals getting taken away.
"Tch... looks like those grunts failed. Time to go with plan B then."
