Week One
Charlie's POV

I have been boyfriendless for seven straight days.

Wow, okay, that sounded less dramatic in my head.

Point is, I miss him like crazy. Stuff with my mom is still rocky at best and I've basically just been rotting away in my bedroom doing my summer work.

For the last hour, my phone has been blowing up with messages from the group chat. I've just listened to my phone go off as I have my head laid on my coursework. Occasionally I glance at my phone to see if it's Nick, but he hasn't been texting me.

Now that I think about it, I haven't heard from him since my fight with my mom.

He doesn't love you.

He's avoiding you.

Failure.

A message catches my attention from Tao as they've started picking up on the fact that I'm reading the messages, just not replying.

Tao: Charlie are you going to the cinema with us next week??

I finally lift my head up and pick up my phone, typing out a quick message.

Charlie: sure

Tao: wow you suck at replying to messages these days

Charlie: sorry been busy

I lock my phone and turn it so the screen is no longer facing up. I lay my head back down and feel my eyes slowly start to shut.

Nick's POV

I've been trying at every opportunity to get my messages through to Charlie, but every time I get any reception, it's such crap that none of my messages have gone through.

"Why couldn't Nellie come?" One of my little cousins asks.

"She's afraid of flying. She's staying with my mom back at home." I say happily.

"We can't wait to meet your boyfriend. It's sad that he couldn't come this year." My aunt Diane who my mom gave her ticket to says.

"I miss him a lot. I haven't really been able to talk to him since we got here." I say before taking a bite of my food.

"And you've been sulking about it for days now. Honestly, it's getting a little boring." David taunts.

"Now, David, that's not really needed." Diane says, getting after him.

"Whatever, it's not like you're mom."

"Anyway, Nick, why don't you go out into town and try calling him?"

"I don't know where there's any good reception. None of my texts are going through to him. I'm sure he's tried texting me too, but I'm not getting any of them." I say honestly.

"I'm sure you'll be able to talk to him soon." God, I hope she's right. I didn't realize how much I actually enjoy talking to Charlie, even if it's about nothing. Anything that happens in my day, I just want to tell him about it, but right now, I can't.

Week Two
Charlie's POV
Trigger Warning: Mentions of self harm and disordered eating

As much as I really didn't want to, I ended up going to the cinema with Tao, Elle, Sahar, Imogen, Tara, Darcy, and Isaac. I did end up hearing from Nick, but it was just another message about the signal being spotty.

I want to hear his voice so badly, but it's not only that. I haven't been able to take a bite of food in almost three days.

I know, it's not good.
