When I woke up, Harper was already in my room, drawing the curtains open.
The first thing she talked about was the announcement of a welcome party that was to be held for the returning imperial knights.
The celebration party would be held by the Farret family, who were unofficially in charge of major social activities in the South.
Since the founding of the Empire, the Farret family had been the leading socialites. The current head of the family was Count Thomas Farret, who is a kind young man in his twenties. He is Olivia's fiancé and has quite a noble reputation.
Thomas Farret is a filial son to his parents, truly responsible with his duties as Count which he recently took over, respectful and the definition of perfection.
Well asides from his emotional side.
'Another one of the young men hopelessly in love with me'
I mused, recalling how he was always so eager to speak with me and would often use Olivia as an excuse to get closer.
"Harper, when is the celebration for the imperial knights?"
As Harper combed my hair, I asked about the party organized by the Farrets.
"Four days from now." She said.
Four days.
Repeating the day in my head, I considered the plans I had to set in motion. Although rather little, I'd manage the time frame.
A knock on the door interrupted Harper's hair-combing. She walked over and opened the door, finding Henry at the other side, several files in his hand.
He walked in, with a bow and greetings. "Good morning my lady"
"Morning" I replied.
"I've contacted some men who will stage an interesting event that'll grab everyone's attention and spread the words of the priest"
"Good. I trust things will play out nicely." Inside my head, several plans were connecting together, forming one big picture — a victory with one fell swoop.
"Henry listen, this is my schedule for today..."
Henry got a paper and pen then wrote down my schedule. The first thing I'd do this morning was to go to the Justice Affairs Department to sort out the false allegations placed on my Adrianna Deor foundation. After that, I'd make a visit to my old friend.
Then when I'd get back...
"Please ready some invitations. I'm holding a tea party in three days time."
Harper finished with my hair and makeup. Now she emerged from my wardrobe with a dress.
"Ohhh, a day before the welcome party. Then I'll have to tell the other servants to ready the garden" She said as she adjusted the large jewels on the silver gown.
Henry looked up from the schedule he had penned down. Furrowing his eyebrows, he shook his head and said. "Don't worry. I will inform the servants."
Harper frowned. "What? Why?"
"Well. Just because. You should focus on other things" Henry's tone was rather unconvincing. He couldn't even look her in the eyes as he spoke.
Harper scoffed. "I'm the lady's maid. I'll continue to perform my duties despite those malicious people"
Harper had just hit the mark. It was obvious why Henry volunteered to contact the other servants in the manor for my tea party's arrangement.
"You need to tread carefully around the other staff"
