"I MIGHT FALL"

"Why do I always have to get myself embarassed in front of him?!" I said in so much frustration when I get home.

"It's okay. Embarassing moments are precious memories too." Ate Paulina chuckled.

I glared at her. "Moments with him is not a memory I want to remember."

"Your being too in denial." She pointed out.

"I'm not in denial!" I defended myself.

"Then why are you thinking too much? Its like his opinion matter to you."

"Excuse me? He's opinion doesn't matter to me!"

"What's with the reaction, then? Kung makapag react ka parang apektadong apektado ka." She looked at me maliciously.

Natahimik ako duon at nakakunot siyang tiningnan. "Are you saying that I like him?"

Her brows shot up, "Do you?"

"I don't!" Agad na tanggi ko.

"Maybe its just a small crush, huh." Nagkibit balikat siya.

"Hindi ko din siya crush!" Iritadong sambit ko.

"Tingnan mo na!" Panghuhuli niya pa sa akin. "Masyado ka talagang in-denial! Alam mo, I wonder why you keep on denying it. Hindi naman 'to bago sayo. Nagkacrush ka din naman dati, at hindi mo naman itinanggi noon. Tapos ngayon, itinatanggi mo. I wonder why?"

I frown at her.

"For sure, you already know what it felts like, hindi ka na malilito sa nararamdaman mo. Kaya bakit, parang hindi mo alam yang nararamdaman mo ngayon?" Napapaisip na sambit niya. "What's the difference?"

"The difference is that, we're too different people. We don't click." Giit ko.

Umiling-iling siya. "Hmmm... I don't think so." Bumaba ang tingin niya sa dibdib ko at itinuro iyon. "You told me your heart beats--"

"Because I was nervous!" Agap ko.

Humagalpak siya ng tawa at itinuro ang mukha ko.

"Oh my gosh! I knew it!"

My eyes widened at her. "Ano?!"

"Your in love!"

"What? Your ridiculous!"

"I sound rediculous but it's the truth!" Nakangiting aniya. "Kaya hindi mo marecognized ang nararamdaman mo para sa kaniya, at pilit mo na itinatanggi na hindi mo siya crush o gusto, kasi nga... hindi mo siya crush, hindi mo rin siya gusto. Mahal mo na siya--"

"Ate naman, eh!" Iritado ko siyang tiningnan at agad na tumayo, "Your not making sense."

"I make sense! Ayaw mo lang tanggapin!" Natatawa niya akong tiningnan.

I groaned loudly and turned my back on her.

"Come on, Pia..."

"Ano!" Bulyaw ko.

Natawa naman siya.

"Argus will be honored to learn that someone as beautiful and reserve as you is in love with him." Tumaas baba ang kilay niya, tila nang-aasar.

"I told you, Hindi ko siya crush! I don't even like him! In love pa kaya! Isa pa, there's just nothing to like about. He's a red flag, and he's not a perfect match for me."

"So, who is the perfect match for you?" Tumaas ang kilay niya.

I rolled my eyes and started to count on my fingers, "I like attractive men who are manly, kind, considerate, self-reliant, smart, charming, have good sense of style..."
