Clover was back to work - his manager had complained about Clover's lack of attendance to his shifts, so from next week, to make it up, Clover had to complete more than 30 hours. He was currently only doing 25 hours a week, most of his shifts 5 hours a day. Clover felt dreadful for his colleagues who had to come in without warning when he was unwell so he agreed to do more than 30. He was saddened about it at first, but he realised he would get paid a lot more than he was used to so he started looking forward to it.

His work was becoming more clamorous than a few months ago - children and young teens would enter the shop for brief drinks and snacks, a perk of summer just beginning. Many of them were amusing kids, begging for ice creams from the freezer. Clover enjoyed watching them converse with each other, and pull out the leftover change they had in their pockets. He also liked that they talked to him like they were almost friends, there was a level of respect there.

When the shop was unbusy, Clover sneaked on his phone to check any messages from Elio or Finley. He asked them if they could update him and keep him entertained with any absurd stories they had throughout the day however, not many messages were coming through. Clover was tempted to message Yuki but remembered Yuki was attempting to sleep throughout the day ready for his 2 weeks of nightshift.

"Hey, you sell milkshakes in here?" A humorous voice spoke at the door of the shop. Clover peeked up from behind the counter.

A wild Finley was standing at the door, his hair a little haywire from the breeze. Clover giggled at the sight, and also at the poor attempt to make his voice sound like someone different. Clover took a look at Finley's uniform, it wasn't his first time seeing him in his uniform but for some reason, the badge was glistening extra bright and the bulletproof vest was more intimidating.

"Why yes sir, we do," Clover went along with the joke, "What's your preferred flavour?"

"Mmm, strawberry," Finley answered, his accent weird and smile big.

Clover nodded, came out from behind the counter and directed the customer to the fridges in the store. He unlocked one door and showcased a few different brands of milkshakes.

"See, the thing is, I only have £1 on me," Finley sighed and pulled out one gold coin as if he were a child.

"Mmm, I see," Clover said, dramatically putting his hand on the bottom of his chin, "Well, perhaps I can pay the extra 35p for you,"

"You would do that kind sir?" Finley asked, his heart stuttering at Clover's kindness.

"Yes, come on," Clover chuckled and led him back to the counter. Clover scanned the milkshake and took Finley's change despite it not being enough. He knew he would stick the extra change in the till later.

"Thanks," Finley said, "I'm just on my break so I thought I'd pop over,"

"I see, how have things been?" Clover asked as he watched Finley take a sip of the milkshake.

"Not too bad today," Finley said, "Had to break into a house because someone called in and said their boyfriend locked them inside,"

"Oh, that happens?" Clover asked, kind of surprised that Finley gets those types of calls.

"Yeah unfortunately," Finley sighed, "Anyway, my break is over so,"

"Already?" Clover asked as he checked the clock behind him.

"Yeah, driving here during midday makes the drive 10 minutes longer," Finley sighed again, "I finish at 4, what about you?"

"I finish at 4 too," Clover announced, and he inspected the time again, "only 3 hours to go,"
