Kakeru Sakamaki...
" No way" I boomed.
" What's with the shouting, Kakeru? It's 12am" said mom.
" Sorry mom" I replied.
I was looking at the paper I borrowed from Kenji and comparing it with a trials training book under the light of my table lamp. It was almost the same image, almost the same instructions but Kyoichi's version was much more easy to master and much more accurate than the original instructions. The technique was impossible to figure out, Kyoichi is a genius. The technique looked as if it was made to tune with Kenji's body, anybody actually, no matter how the rider's posture was. It took me some time to realise that I have to be at the training ground tomorrow at six, as discussed. We had given Sho an hour extra to sleep cause no matter how hard he tried he never could wake up at the decided time. I hoped before sleeping that he manages to wake up early tomorrow. I had no clue what was coming next.
Tomorrow, 21st June...
Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep was the first sound I heard and sat up relaxingly. I looked at the clock with ease and my eyes grew bigger I rubbed my eyes and looked again, precisely it 6:00am and the X Zone was like 15 mins away from my house. I was late, I was now in Sho's shoes exactly as Sho said he had to do when he was late, run, get dressed, take a loaf of bread, take the book and the paper, stay calm and RUN, run for my life. My MTB was out of air so I chose the hard way and ran as fast as I could. While I ran, terrible thoughts came into my head, Makoto's anger and Sho pulling my leg, as I was never late, however today was so not my day.
After managing to reach the board I was able to see the same people I saw every day in the same position, Makoto, Sho and Kenji, Kyoichi on the rock and Samajima brothers. Makoto seemed to burst with anger so I thought to change the topic when I reached. Thus, while approaching them I shouted "The paper...the paper." Expressions changed Makoto, Sho and Kenji ran towards me with a concerned look.
"What about the paper, Kakeru?" asked Sho.
"Yeah.... you look exhausted" replied Makoto.
While I caught my breath Kenji said "Any news on what was on the paper?"
"Yeah... a lot actually" I replied.
"This is a professional trials move actually, but with Kyoichi's addition any amateur rider can use it too. This is way above your level Kenji, no offense" I started.
"No...no.. I am with you" Kenji replied.
I continued " This addition was like practically made for Kenji. It's a technique only someone of his posture, his body and his muscular strength can conquer. However if this technique is re framed with different data of a person it will be like a perfect training technique. This is unbelievable."
" Whoa, cool down Kakeru... could you explain some of this in my terms too. I didn't get a word" said Sho.
" You idiot, I don't get it very well either but if Kakeru's saying it so excitedly then it must be really great" boomed out Makoto.
" Hey... guys quit fighting it's advanced trials stuff you're not supposed to get any of this I just said it because I wanted you guys to realize how hard it was" I said trying to calm them down. While Kenji stood just watching with awe how much two people can fight.
Kenji...
It was about 6:17am when they went back to MTB, rather than fighting. Two days were left to the race and I had learnt the moves but I still needed more experience. But things seemed much harder then what I felt when I accepted the challenge. The leader of Team Shark's Tooth is a fearsome rider and he would do anything to get what he wants.
