Revealing Blaze Phoenix

School was over 45 minutes ago, it was 3:15, while playing football with his friends Kenji had completely forgotten about his mtb race. He was supposed to meet Makoto, Sho and Kakeru at the warehouse behind their house. That's when Kenji's friend Ayumu, also Sho's younger brother, reminded him about the race.

" Are really challenging Team Shark Tooth's leader Gabu Samajima? You do know he's a great rider, right?" asked Ayumo

" I know about his skills, but according to what I've seen he's just a proud guy with big talk." replied Kenji.

Kenji was stunned as he remembered his elder sister's prediction that he would forget and she was right Kenji was supposed to meet them by 2:45, not 30 minutes later. He ran towards his bag and then took a turn towards the gate and dashed out towards the warehouse.

Ayomu's friend Rantaro asked " Hey.. what's up with Kenji he seems in a hurry."

Ayomu was wondering how did Kenji run that fast, he always came first from the opposite end. Then after a sigh he said " I have no clue what that boy is up to.."

At the warehouse ...........................................................................

" I told you guys, he'll forget" said Makoto folding her arms. Sho stood their staring at the door, which was left open, expecting Kenji would prove his sister wrong. Kakeru in the meantime inspected the parts. Then he said  " All the parts are fine.. so are tyres.... we'll just have to assemble the bike."

That's when Kenji barged in, slipped, and then dragged all the way to Makoto's feet. Makoto looked down with those typical evil smiles and said in a ghostly tone " Look whose here...Mr. Forget me Please..." and then she boomed " Which part of being in time did you not understand?" Sho and Kakeru stood sympathising for Kenji who with folded hands asked forgiveness, while Makoto kept on shouting. They would have gone to calm Makoto down, but if there was one thing they knew about her it was never to mess with her when she was angry.

Then Kakeru shouted " Save it for later guys.. we've got bigger problems to worry about right now." Then Makoto's red face turned towards him and he turned pale then she said " I guess you're right." Kenji had just uncovered his ears when she turned towards him and screamed " THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE FORGIVEN."

When they looked at the part under light of the 3:30 sun, Kenji's eyes shut and he saw a Crimson frame shining like the sun. The frame bore the bike's name   'BLAZE PHOENIX'. He said " This will be good."

The next two days were fun, it was a very common scene that Sho was running with orange juice for Kakeru, who was working very hard then Sho slipped and Kakeru ended up covered with juice and the glass hitting his head a few seconds after. When the fun and frolic was spread and everyone forgot about Blaze Phoenix Makoto boomed out " Aren't you guys forgetting something "  The other boys and myself immediately returned to our work, without question. But it was not as if Makoto didn't work, she worked too, not maybe as hard as Kakeru but definitely more than Sho, who frequently dozed off. Sho got up as soon as things went silent, he first looked at me and Kakeru, and we pointed towards Makoto. When he turned straight he saw Makoto's dangerous eyes looking straight at him, her face was red, but her eyes were fiery. Sho folded his hands in seconds and after Makoto blinked she found him at her feet begging for mercy. I always wondered how someone can fall asleep on the top of a barrel.

The magic was on the third day, I was running, it was 2:30. I wasn't late but I preferred not taking a risk. As I entered I hoped for the best but I got a miracle, in front of me was a fiery bike, on its frame were fire sticker, it had gripped pedals and an orange saddle. The size was perfect. Then Kakeru started demonstrating the gears and brakes, energy filled my heart and I shouted " This is awesome ". Everyone was silent and then we started laughing at our success.

Makoto....

We were all rejoicing with fresh orange juice. But the sun was shining brightly and my eyes were having problem seeing due to its strong light. Then suddenly, my eyes felt comfortable and a shadow appeared on the ground. A familiar face appeared, with folded hands. He stood there half-smiling, the figure was Kyoichi. While our blather continued, I kept staring at him, then after a few minutes he walked away. Sho turned towards me and asked " You.. still in this world, Makoto". A gentle smile appeared on my face and I replied " Yup... still here."
