Gafara found the black light flashlight hidden in the drawers under the desk. She shined the light on the invisible pages of the book she held, revealing the first entry: "Rare Home Listening Devices That Are Hardly Expected for Eavesdropping."

1. Air Fresheners & Perfumes
2. Calculators
3. Key Fobs
4. Writing Pens—deluxe voice recorders that have no visible switches or buttons to give them away, designed to look like ordinary pens. Even better, these high-tech listening devices function as real ballpoint pens.
5. Smoke Detectors
6. Credit Cards—once rare when I left, but now common, friends.
7. Alarm Clocks
8. Lightbulbs—unexpected listening devices.
9. Picture Frames—cameras in pictures and paintings are too obvious nowadays.
10. Potted Plants—growing increasingly noticeable.
11. Fake USB Chargers—house hidden cameras.
12. Any popular talking child's toy—a teddy bear might contain hidden microphones, though adults are unlikely to notice unless they have kids to watch.
13. Fake Wall Outlets—can also be listening devices.
14. Batteries—modified battery packs can serve as discreet recording devices.
15. Remote Controls—some TV remotes can be altered to include audio recording capabilities.
16. Hollow Books—can function as hidden recording devices.
17. Coffee Makers—ingeniously disguised listening devices can hide inside appliance casings.
18. Pet Feeders—a sophisticated pet feeder can include hidden surveillance tech.

Gafara grabbed a notepad from her pocket and scribbled with her own pen, "A coffee maker bug might just be what I need; the girls love their coffee in the morning, and it's certainly unsuspecting."

"But just in case they figure it out, I better come up with two or four more advanced bug-planting devices," Gafara stated. She shone the black light on the book again, revealing more hidden entries.

19. Candles—hollowed-out candles can contain microphones hidden within the wax.
20. Globes—a tabletop globe can be modified to hold a listening device inside.
21. Decorative Vases—these can conceal microphones at the bottom.
22. Fridge Magnets—modified to contain tiny recording devices.
23. Cup Coasters—equipped with sound recording equipment.
24. Laptop Bags—compartmentalized bags can house hidden tech.
25. Credit Card Holders—slim holders can be modified to include a microphone.
26. Food Thermometers—some cooking thermometers may incorporate hidden audio capabilities.
27. Bathroom Scales—these can conceal surveillance tech within their bases.
28. Fake Alarm System Panels—can house listening devices.
29. Cups or Mugs—certain cup designs can have built-in microphones at the bottom.
30. Garden Gnomes—outdoor decor that can hide a listening device.
31. Remote Environmental Sensors—devices meant to monitor temperature may hide microphones.
32. Couch Cushions—hollowed-out cushions can accommodate small microphones.
33. Modified Electric Surge Protectors—can conceal listening tech.
34. Prank Toys—may also hold listening devices.
35. Dresser Drawers—tiny recording devices discreetly positioned inside.
36. Lanyards—can conceal small microphones or recording devices.
37. Doorstops—some types designed to hold audio recording equipment.
38. Chalkboards—can have tech embedded in the frame.
39. Plant Watering Spikes—hiding microphones within their spikes.
40. Hats or Caps—perfect for discreet eavesdropping in public.
41. Inside a Light Switch Cover—modified covers could house discreet audio devices.
42. Under the Rug—a sensor or small listening device placed underneath.

Gafara noted that the doorstop was one of the least detectable items around. It would fool Tecna since it wasn't digital, and Bloom would assume it was merely preventing damage to walls. She decided against using a high-energy lithium battery, knowing they could be explosive. Instead, she roughly estimated that a combination of solar power and energy scavenging would help her conceal her listening device effectively. Gafara wouldn't need to plant many solar devices because Stella was a solar-powered device herself. The energy scavenger would quietly siphon energy from other household devices during the night, powering up her listening device during the day. This plan would work brilliantly since the Winx would never think to look at the floor for their inconveniences.
