"I heard I'm your celebrity crush," I said the moment Lando picked up my call.

"What?" he replied, sounding genuinely confused.

I hit play on my computer, and an old interview with him and Carlos started playing. Lando was on camera admitting that I was his celebrity crush. I smirked and closed my laptop.

"We're even now," I said with a grin.

"Why are you watching old McLaren videos?" he asked, sounding slightly accusatory.

"Because Carlando was my favorite era, and I miss it," I shrugged. "And, let's be honest, it's a great way to procrastinate."

"You and me both," he said, laughing. "Did you finish packing?"

"No, it got boring," I admitted, tossing another shirt onto the bed.

"You have to leave in an hour," he reminded me.

"It's my plane; it's not going anywhere without me," I said, subtly flexing.

"Okay, missy. Start packing, and I'll tell you an embarrassing story about Max today."

"Ooh, my favorite!" I said, jumping up and beginning to fold clothes into my suitcase with renewed energy.

As I packed, Lando entertained me with hilarious and somewhat mortifying stories about his and max's golf trip. His storytelling made the task fly by, and before I knew it, my suitcase was packed and ready to go. With a final chuckle and a promise to call me later, I zipped up my suitcase and headed out the door.

(one day spoilers ahead)

Drew and I were settling into my plane on our way back to LA, having decided to binge-watch "One Day" based on everyone raving about it on tik tok. I was especially excited because my co-star, Leo from White Lotus, had a significant role in it.

We made it to the final episode, and I was in utter shambles. Tears streamed down my face, soaking into my sweatshirt as the show reached its emotional climax. When the credits finally rolled, Drew and I sat in stunned silence, struggling to pull ourselves together.

"Oh my god," I managed to say, my voice cracking from all the crying.

"That was horrible," Drew said, wiping away his own tears.

"I can't—" I began, still unable to stop sobbing. Drew pulled me into his side, trying to offer some comfort.

"I have to go to Monaco," I said, gesturing wildly as if the show itself had given me a sudden epiphany.

"What are you talking about?" Drew asked, looking at me like I'd lost my mind.

"They waited so long, and when they finally found each other, she died," I explained through my tears, trying to articulate my sudden urge to act on my feelings.

"Yeah, but why would you have to go to Monaco?" Drew asked, still completely confused.

"Because what if I wait too long and then he's gone?" I cried even harder, the weight of the show's ending pushing me to the brink.

"I'm not going to my meetings," I said, grabbing my phone and typing out emails to my managers to let them know I'd be joining all meetings virtually.

"This feels dramatic. It was just a show, Mia," Drew said, looking at me like I was having a breakdown.

"No, it's not. The show just made me realize how stupid it is to not act on your feelings. So here I am, taking that lesson and applying it. Isn't that the point?" I said, finally starting to compose myself and think clearly.

"Okay, fair. You're still crazy, though," Drew admitted with a half-smile.

"Oh, I know," I said, sending the last email and then texting my assistant, Gabby, to set up a flight to Monaco once I landed.

"Okay, but how are you going to do this?" he asked, now fully on board with my impulsive plan.

"Haven't thought that far ahead. I just texted Gabby to get me a flight there," I admitted.

"Are you going to tell him? I feel like it should be a surprise," Drew said, now giving me his full support.

"Okay, but I've only been to Monaco once. I have no idea where to go," I said, feeling the pressure of my spontaneous decision.

"Isn't his best friend Max staying with him right now? Text Max to let you in," Drew suggested, practical as always.

"Okay, shit, I'm really doing this," I said, pulling up Max's contact. I didn't know him well, but we'd chatted a few times since he'd been staying with Lando. I took a deep breath and hit send, ready to make the leap.

"Here goes nothing," I said, staring at my phone with a mix of excitement and nervousness.
