"Hey everyone, this is Zane Lowe on Apple Music, and I'm thrilled to be joined by a very special guest today. She's a powerhouse of talent, and her highly anticipated album drops at midnight! Please welcome the incredible Mia Reed!" Zane said over the phone. This morning I was doing a live phone interview with Zane.

"Mia, welcome! How are you feeling right now?"

"Thank you so much for having me I've missed you. I feel great, I am so excited for everything." I said my smile big.

"It's great to have you back! Now, this album has been kept completely under wraps. What made you decide to surprise your fans like this?? I mean we are used to seeing you tease and tease albums, but this time you've gone silent." He says.

"I mean I have to keep them on their toes somehow." I said with a laugh. " But with this album I wasn't anticipating releasing so soon, but now feels right so why not."

" I love that! Keeping fans on their toes is always fun. With no teasers at all, what emotions or themes do you hope they experience when they finally get to listen?"

"God all of them. I will say, everything I've ever written is always about my experiences, but I hope that whoever listens can hear one of the songs and just use it to help themselves heal from something in their own lives. I mean that's why I do this you know. I go through all this shit so that hopefully my fans don't have to."

"That's a powerful sentiment. It's amazing how music can serve as a healing tool. While creating this album, did you feel any pressure given your success? How did you channel that into your work?"

"I mean there's always pressure. I kind of like it though. Without it I probably wouldn't be half the writer I am. I mean my last album started because people told me I didn't write enough up beat songs."

"So, with this album being such a surprise, I'm curious—what was the creative process like for you? Did you approach it differently than in the past? Any standout moments that made you think, "Wow, this is really coming together"?"

"Honestly, no. These are all songs that I wrote to help me process my emotions and at the time of writing them I thought they were way to honest to put out. It was like my therapy book. But now, that I'm in a good place mentally and in all my relationships I hear these songs and It would be an absolute shame to keep to myself."

"It's incredible how music can serve as both therapy and a bridge to connect with others. Given that these songs were so personal, how did you feel when you finally made the decision to share them with the world? Was there a moment where you felt that shift?"

"It felt empowering for sure. I guess the moment for me was after seeing the response to my last album, because a lot of these songs I wrote before that album came out. The amount of people who were relating reminded me that this is all just a part of life. I guess I realized I had more to say and I wanted to say it."

"That's such a powerful realization! It's amazing how connecting with your audience can inspire more creativity. Now, looking ahead, what do you hope your fans take away from this surprise album? Is there a specific message or feeling you want them to walk away with?"

"Whatever they need. I won't put any of their takeaways in a box because everyone has their own interpretations"

"That's a beautiful approach—allowing space for individual interpretations. It really speaks to the power of music. Before we wrap up, how are you planning to celebrate this midnight release with your fans? Any special plans?"

"I will be on a plane to Australia, but the second I land I better see everyone's reactions online. I'll celebrate at the end of the weekend when I know if it was a hit or not"

"That sounds like quite the adventure! A plane ride to Australia with a new album dropping—definitely a memorable way to celebrate! I can't wait to see the reactions flood in. Thank you so much for joining me today, Mia. Everyone, don't forget to check out her surprise album dropping at midnight!"

After my interview with Zane, I had a couple others for different publications. I wasn't doing an insane amount of press this time around, which felt like a breath of fresh air. I also didn't feel like I needed to, the amount of hype online about tonight's drop was insane. I've given them quite literally nothing and they are still eating it up. I love  them. By the time I finished my interviews and said the same thing in 10 different ways, I started to pack my bags to head to Australia.
