Salvatore Boarding School

It was late at night and pretty much everyone was asleep. Excluding the few that either couldn't sleep or were busy doing something else. For Aaron, he was busy trying to figure out where the Necromancer was. He knew his deranged relative had to be alive since the prison world hadn't imploded. And he knew the Necromancer had an act for coming back from the dead.

Aaron huffed in annoyance as he slammed a book shut on his desk before picking a mug up and taking a drink of the herbal tea that sat in the ceramic holder, grimacing slightly at the taste before putting the mug back down. Suddenly, the balcony doors flew open from a strong breeze and a letter flew into the room, landing on Aaron's bed.

Aaron frowned at the piece of paper before walking over to his bed, using his magic to close the balcony doors as he walked. He sat down on the bed, picking the parchment up.

Dear Aaron,

As usual, I made a huge mess of things. I'll be gone for a while and I didn't want you to worry about my sudden disappearance. I need to break this destructive pattern I've created. Please check in on Jo whenever you can. She's kinda involved in the recent mess I created. I'm hoping to be back soon but no promises.

Love,

Lizzie.

Aaron frowned deeply at Lizzie's written words, confusion and worry flooding his body. He placed the letter down back on the bed before his eyes landed on the fading black veins on his hands and lower arms. He'd learned that the veins were excess magic that was trying to get into his system and as they faded, the more dark magic and black magic went into his system. Aaron honestly didn't know how long he had left until it killed him and put him into transition. But he knew one thing. He wasn't ready for any of it yet.

The Next Morning

After finding out Josie also got a letter from Lizzie, the two went to Alaric's office early in the morning, wanting to know everything. "Listen, I was hoping that she would tell you herself, but Lizzie felt bad about what happened, so she found a Wiccan wellness retreat to help her manage her control issues, among other things." Alaric told the two. "And her being alone in the woods with a bunch of other witches sounded like a good idea to you?" Josie asked her dad.
