Salvatore Boarding School
After Aaron had woken up, the news had spread quick leading to the squad and Alaric stood outside the infirmary impatiently, waiting to see him. "God, what is she doing in there? Performing open heart surgery?" Lizzie asked annoyed. "Lizzie, would you please relax? Nurse Paxton is making sure Aaron is up to having visitors." Alaric told his daughter, who huffed lightly.
The infirmary doors opened and everyone looked towards them, seeing Laura peaking her head out. "He's requested only to see three of you right now and everyone else when he's ready. Alaric, you first." Laura said, holding the door open. Alaric nodded before looking at his students. "Stay here. Don't do anything apart from waiting for your turn." Alaric told them before walking into the infirmary, the door closing behind him. The man saw Aaron sat up in the bed, cushions behind his back to support him as he held a hot mug of herbal tea in his hands.
The black veins had disappeared from his face and around his neck but were still visible on his arms and hands. "He's a little jittery and a bit sensitive to loud sudden noises and movements. So just keep a calm tone around him and no sudden movements." Laura told Alaric quietly, who nodded before walking over towards Aaron and sitting down on the chair beside his bed.
"Supposed to help with the pain." Aaron said, raising his mug and taking a sip, grimacing at the taste. "Your parents are worried. So worried that your mom's said she's going to fly over here and kick my ass for letting it happen." Alaric told Aaron, who chuckled slightly. "Don't worry. I'll probably get the worse end of that." He told Alaric, who smiled softly. "I'm sorry." Aaron said causing Alaric to frown. "About this whole thing. It was my fault the prison world was infected with dark magic and nearly got Hope, Lizzie and Josie in danger." Aaron explained.
"Aaron, none of this is your fault. Did you make a really stupid decision? Definitely. Did it put you in a life threatening position? Yes." Alaric said. "I hope you're going somewhere with this." Aaron told the man. "And even though I don't condone your choices, I respect that it was a selfless choice. You put others before yourself." Alaric said. Aaron placed his mug down on the bedside table, just nodding at the man's words.
Suddenly, the doors burst open causing Aaron to flinch at the noise, curling his hands into fists and scrunching his eyes closed for a few seconds, quickly calming himself down. Alaric looked over, seeing Lizzie walking towards them. "Your visiting time is up. My turn now." Lizzie said, guiding Alaric out of the chair and sitting down. Alaric sighed shaking his head as he left the room. "You're a complete idiot, you know that." Lizzie told Aaron, who pursed his lips and nodded.
"Yeah, I know." He said. "Glad we agree. So much has happened." Lizzie said. "How long was I unconscious?" Aaron asked. "About a day or so. What's your point?" Lizzie answered. "Nothing. You were saying." Aaron said. "Right. After everything that happened, I was super pissed at Hope about it but then a Gremlin came to the school and helped us sort out our issues." Lizzie said.
