In the run down house of Purgatory, the hooded figure was carving runes into the front door stained with blood using the almost full knife they had been carrying around. After dealing with the woman, the hooded figure carried her body outside and dumped it in a river running through the forest. Riven was sat by the unlit fireplace, watching the hooded figure work before meowing loudly. The hooded figure sighed before looking over at the familiar. "Just give me a second. Unless you want hellhounds dragging us back to Hell." The hooded figure said.

Riven just turned away from his owner, facing the unlit fireplace. The hooded figure chuckled before finishing off the last rune they carved into the wood. "All done." They muttered before waving their hand, causing the fireplace to light up with a warm glow. Riven purred happily as he laid down comfortably, enjoying the warmth being provided. The hooded figure walked over and sat down next to the cat, stroking the soft, black fur gently. Riven purred satisfied with the attention he was receiving.

"My mom would love you. She's always had a thing for cats. But my dad was always a dog person. Guess the saying is true. Opposites do attract. Anyway, my mom would give you all her attention. And you being the narcissistic little thing you are, you'd exploit her of that just so you'd have all the attention you could possibly want." The hooded figure spoke. Riven hissed at him quietly and the hooded figure stopped stroking him. "That language is what gets you less petting time." They told the familiar, who just ignored them.

The hooded figure then saw a record player in the corner and walked over to it. "A little out of shape, but should still work." The hooded figure said. They then waved their hand and a vinyl record appeared on the record player. The tonearm then moved over the record before dropping down letting the needle touch the vinyl before the record began to spin, music playing through the room.

I don't want to set the world on fire
I just want to start
A flame in your heart

The hooded figure sat back down on the wooden floor next to Riven as the music hit their ears. The tone of the song was a little low and the pace was a little slow but it was still enjoyable to listen to. Riven made a noise and the hooded figure sighed. "I don't know. I just like this song." They told the familiar.

I've lost all ambition
For worldly acclaim
I just want to be the one you love
And with your admission
That you feel the same
I'll have reached the goal I'm dreaming of

Suddenly, quiet howls were heard outside. Riven jumped up quickly at the noise, staring at the front door. "Don't worry. Every door, window and any holes in the walls or roof are warded off. Runes carved all around them and in them. Nothing is getting in except us." The hooded figure comforted Riven, who hesitated before lying back down on the floor. "No hellhound is getting us now or ever again." The hooded figure said, staring at the fire, watching the warm orange hue transform into a vibrant, cool purple hue.
