When Friday rolled along, I was feeling fantastic. I hadn't spoken to Leo since I left from camp, but honestly that was better for me. I knew we would talk again when the time came, and we would go back to our normal ways soon enough.
I had spoken to my brother a few times through Iris Message, which felt good. I also was spending more time with Ginny and Hermione this week. It was good to have girl friends around.
On Thursday, Draco and I hung out, chatting about classes and the Inquisitorial Squad's newest theories. We ended up laughing and leaning against each other for hours until the watch was over. Part of me wished that our watch lasted longer. But we were finally in a solid place. Plus, Pansy has been leaving me alone now.
I continued working hard in all of my classes, Prefect duty, the Inquisitorial Squad patrols, and I was even meeting Harry privately to get lessons from him that he was teaching the DA. I felt seriously on top of the world.
Today was the day of the Slytherin party, which I was still debating going to. Obviously I couldn't invite another Gryffindor with me, they would hate that. Plus, Draco would be on duty, so I would be stuck with Nott all night anyways.
I had done my hair and makeup today, and was feeling great. When I arrived to Potions class, Draco and Blaise were already there, and greeted Hermione and I with a smile.
Before the lesson, Draco came up, spoke to me about our plans for the Inquisitorial Squad this weekend, and brushed some of my hair out of my face. When he returned to his seat I swore I could see the faintest smile on Hermione's face.
It really felt like everything was coming together.
As classes ended for the day, I went to dinner with my friends, and we all made plans to go to Hogsmeade the following day. I felt straight glee.
During dinner, my mood only faltered for a moment when Theo came to talk to me. He brushed some of my hair off of my shoulder and leant down, asking if I was going to the party.
"It begins at 10." He said softly.
"Begins at 10?" I asked, a bit too loudly.
He hushed me.
"Sorry," I whispered back, "10 is curfew. How could I make it back to my dormitory?"
"You don't." He said, a smirk on his face and danger in his eyes.
Ginny, who was next to me, was eavesdropping with wide eyes and accidentally kicked Ron under the table instead of me.
"Ow!" Ron said. "What was that for?"
Ginny shrugged, pretending as if it never happened and returned to her meal.
"No way." I said, quietly. "You're nuts."
"What, you'll stay with Malfoy and not me?" He asks.
"You know that was a special case." I say, defensively.
"Well, I'm sure your boy toy will escort you back, he will be on duty after all." Theo says, teasingly.
I roll my eyes, "Fine. I'll be there."
"Good." He gives me a wink, and heads back to the Slytherin table.
"What was that all about, Lilia?" Hermione asks once Theo is out of earshot.
I gesture for her to come closer, before quietly saying, "there's a party at Slytherin House tonight. He wants me to go."
Her eyes open wide, and she says, "you can't. You'll get in so much trouble if you're caught."
