ANGELA POV
I was sitting at my desk talking to Wesley on the phone. It's the end of his day, and I've got about an hour left in mine.
"Did you talk to Lucy?" I asked Wesley on the phone. "She was there preparing for court, I heard."
"She um. She decided not to testify." Wesley said
"What?" I asked
"Yeah. I don't know what happened. She met with Chris for a while. Then she decided she wasn't going to testify." Wesley said
"Did Chris say anything?" I asked
"No. Not really. He's been really quiet ever since." Wesley said
"Hm. Weird." I said."Did your bosses tell you anything?"
"I don't know what happened. They aren't sure themselves either." Wesley said "Atleast the case is air tight."
"Right." I said
"Hey. You know who may have an idea?" Wesley said,"Tim. He may know."
"That's true. I'll see if he knows anything." I said
"Okay. I'll keep my ears open here." Wes said,"I'll pick up Jack, and we'll see you at home?"
"Okay." I said
"Love you." Wesley said
"Love you too." I said
The phone call ended. I continued on with my paperwork.
"Ugh. I'm exhausted." Nyla said as she threw herself down in her chair.
"Me too." I said."Have you seen Tim?"
"Uh. He's around here somewhere. I think." Nyla said."Why?"
"Lucy decided not to testify. I was just wondering if he knew why." I said
"She decided not to?" Nyla said."That's weird. I thought she was dead set on testifying."
"Yeah. That's what I thought, too. That's why I was asking if you knew where Tim was. I thought maybe he'd know." I said
"What about Nolan?" Nyla asked
"What about him?" I asked
"They are friends. Maybe he knows, too." Nyla said
"Right. You're a genius." I said
As if by magic, Nolan came into the room
"Nolan!" Harper called
"How can I help you detectives?" Nolan asked
"I heard from Wesley that Lucy decided not to testify." I said
"We were wondering if you knew anything about it." Nyla said
"Honestly. I mean, Tamara called me. I spoke to her for a minute. There was a moment where there was a lapse in judgment." Nolan said,"Lucy said that she wanted to see the video. Then, after that, she decided she didn't want to testify."
"Oh man." I said."How bad?"
"What Tamara said was that Chris sang the song." Nolan said. "From. You know."
"What?" I asked shocked and horrified
"Yeah. He was singing it under his breath while he was getting coffee, I guess he didn't see her and he wasn't thinking."
"Clearly." Nyla said cutting him off
"Anyways. I called Tamara. Told her I was coming over with some pizza. I also said I'd talk to her." Nolan said
"Go ahead. We don't want to keep you." I said
John nodded and turned and started to walk away
"Hey. Nolan." Nyla said
He stopped and turned back to us
"Let us know if she needs anything." Nyla said
"Will do." He promised
