He wasn't jealous, he repeated over and over in his head as he flew along the Sidra. He just missed his mate, that was all. He would just picture Eris and himself when Lucien and Elain were at the alter. He would just have to deal with the numbing pain throughout the ceremony, that was all. Not a big deal, not a big deal at all.

And anyway, they would have to visit Autumn for them to be able to marry, and then he would see Eris. Surely Rhys would let them have a night together, right?

But what if he didn't?

~

Azriel had left his family to celebrate without them, finding no need in bringing down the energy with his awful attitude. Elain didn't think he was being rude, but she was so innocent, so pure. All she wanted to do was grow flowers, bake delectable meals, and live with the love of her life. Azriel didn't need to ruin that for her.

So why did he want to? Why did he want to ruin their day, to burn the city down, to kill her, and her Lucien, and Rhysand. Why did he want to rip her dress, destroy her garden, drown everything she loves? Why?

He is a good person, or so he had told himself. But what if he wasn't? What if he did ruin everything, and come away with nothing but guilt, and loneliness. If Eris could hear his thoughts, he would never want to be with him.

Azriel stared out at the raging ocean. A sea that only the largest, strongest ship could brave. Waves reached meters into the sky, towering above the gulls that swept close to the surf.

At day, this beach was a stunning family location, but when the sun disappeared, and the wind changed, as it did every night,  it became the most dangerous bay Azriel had every witnessed. Very much suitable for disposing of animal carcass, or worse. Not that he would know. His greatest talent was not strength, or stealth, rather his ability to never, ever, act on the impulsive thoughts that raged through his head.

Just like he would keep doing, at the wedding, and the next after that. Just like he would when his family were all married and mated and happy, and he was still waiting to be allowed to be with his mate.

When he had arrived back at the House of Wind, the dining table was still full. So he would blend into the shadows, shimmy around the room, slip through the door, all hided by his families inane drunkenness.

The there was the two people who would never drink, who he hadn't accounted for. The two people who had followed him down the hall.

"Azriel!" Feyre snapped.

Beside her stood Nesta, who hadn't drunk since she quit. Feyre had stopped drinking after she discovered that she was pregnant with Nyx, and it had stuck.

"What are you doing? Where did you go? Elain said she talked to you, she said you were sick!"

Letting out a long breath, he turned to them.

"I was sick! I went for a walk, now I am going to sleep! Happy?" He snapped, heading back down the hallway.

"Not really, you have been really sick lately! Are you okay?" Nesta grabbed his arm, spinning him back to them.

"I'm fine, I swear."

"Okay, if you say so..." Feyre relented. "We're going to Autumn tomorrow."

"Fine. I'll be ready, can I go now?"

The sisters looked to each other, tense look on their faces.

"No, Az, us. Me, Rhys, Lucien, Elain, Mor, Cass, and Nes. Not you- Rhys said you were to sick to go." Feyre explained carefully.

"We didn't think it would be a big deal, who likes Beron and Eris anyway?"

He did. Azriel did. He loved Eris, he had been promised that he could come. walking away from the table must have been enough to make Rhys angry enough that he couldn't come.

He slammed the door in their faces.

I feel like i have to explain that i didnt mean to make rhys a dick, it just kinda came out like that. he will have a redemption arch i swear.
