Blush // Hold me...

(Short)
(After Unlovable, months before Showing Love)

Blink lay down looking at his new and first boyfriend, fantasising about all the cute dates and cuddle nights he's going to have. He got closer and shyly pressed his forehead onto Mush's chest. He smiled at the warmth, and the smell of Mushs clothes. He waited for Mush to wrap his arms around him, but instead, he felt the warmth turn into a cold stinging sense of anxiety as he realised that not only was Mush not holding him, he moved away from Blink so Blink was no longer close, "Im not much of a cuddler if that's OK." Mush kindly smiled but Blinks heart sank. In all honesty, as well as never being kissed, he's never been held before, and he was really excited for it. His mom used to hold him at night, and he felt warm and safe and loved. But Blink didn't want to lose Mush so he reluctantly said, "Ok, that's fine, me neither to be honest..." he fake laughed and Mush laughed with him, "Goodnight."

The next morning, Mush got up to get ready, while Blink took a little longer to wake up, but he did as soon as he heard, "Explain." Blink opened his eyes to see Sniper stood over him. Blink smiled and stood up, and Sniper stood beside him, "I've got my first boyfriend!" Blink was smiling from ear to ear, "He likes me Sniper, he chose me... not Marcie, or anyone else, out of everyone he chose me."
Sniper, remarkably, smiled, "Wow, that's so sweet."
Blink nodded, "So he slept in my bed last night."
Though Sniper didn't care much for emotion, he was great at looking through people, a good trait for someone who wants to be a novelist, and he could tell that Blink was a little disheartened or disappointed by something, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing-"
"I'm not an idiot Blink, tell me what's wrong."
"Nothing, Nothing... its nothing really..."
Sniper didn't really care, however, he knew that is Blink got his heartbroken he'd be the one he'll run to. And he'll have to deal with it all. "Blink, just tell me dude."
Blink bit his bottom lip, "Um... well, he didn't want to hold me... but that's ok-"
"Blink, that's such a lie, everytime you talk about Mush or having a boyfriend it's always, "I really want to try cuddling, and feel loved and blablabla" personally I think it's overrated but if it's important to you, you should just ask, even if he's not into it just ask for just one night."
Blink shook his head, "It's fine, I'm not a baby, I don't need to be held, it doesn't seem that great either."
Sniper got up, he said, "Wait till Mush realise you don't have a mind of your own and leaves you. God, you're going to get your heart broken." Before leaving. That was cold, Blinks heart dropped, Sniper has been in a lot of relationships and he just takes what he has to say to heart.

But Mush came back to grab his bag, "Morning."
Blink hid his pain with a pitiful smile, "Morning..."
"How'd you sleep?"
"Good... it did get a bit cold..." Blink said quietly, hoping maybe Mush would get the hint, but he's not that smart. "Really? Felt quite warm to me."
Blink pressed his lips together, "You want to sell together today?"
"I usually sell with the twins."
Blink nodded. When they were both ready to go, Blink reached to hold Mush's hand but Mush didn't notice and left Blink to join Mike and Ike. Blinks little heart fell flat. He was so excited for an affectionate relationship. He froze on the spot as newsies around him started leaving, he felt so confused. Did Mush not love him enough?
