Kid Blink // Unlovable

(This was before Henry and Sniper were dating btw, sorry my timeline is confusing)

Mush was single. Its been months since his break up with Mike and now no-one has heard him even mention anything about relationships. Blink doesn't even remember the last time Mush was single. Seeing him go to his bed alone felt weird to him. What was even weirder was that Mush has become really close with him. Like he always hangs around him, and they start spending a lot of time together at the lodging house, talking about completely random dorky stuff and making eachother laugh. And Blink feels his heart flutter everytime Mush places his hand on his shoulder or he looks at him with those stupid blue eyes.
And Blink was so shocked that out of everyone Mush chooses to hang out with him...him... it made him feel so special, especially since he has a huge crush on Mush and has had for ages. And also, Mush was Blinks first kiss. On accident of course, but Blink was super scared Mush would never talk to him again after that. "But why me?" Blink flopped onto Snipers bed as Sniper was reading.
Sniper sighed, not looking up from his book, "Why not you?"
"So many reasons- especially the kiss."
"Clearly the kiss did something."
"Yeah..." Blink mumbled.
"Maybe he likes you." Sniper said, half teasing half sarcastic.
"Oh shut up." Blink laughed, hearing the sarcasm, but he thought for a bit, "Or maybe that's it-"
Sniper looked up from his book, "What-"
"Maybe he likes me..."
Sniper grew worried as he saw a glimps of hope and love in Blinks eyes as he blushed and smiled, "Imagine," Blink continued, "I think he likes me... why else would he-"
"Blink, please don't get your hopes up." Sniper said, a little more blunt than he intended.
Blink looked at his friend, his smile dropping, "But...surely there's something there...I-"
Sniper put his book down, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say it like that... I'm not saying there isn't a chance but, you know, there is a chance he just really likes you as a friend."
"No... this is different I know it, you like me as a friend and you don't look at me the way he does." Blink smiled again, thinking of Mushs smile lighting up everytime they made eye contact.
"Bold of you to assume I like you- and anyways, why do you like him so much, especially after what happened with Mike, and he's kind of an idiot, you're way too smart for him."
"I like them dumb." Blink grinned, jokingly.
Sniper chuckled, "I surely don't."
(Not the foreshadowing)
"Maybe I can ask him out." Blink continued.
Sniper sighed, "You're not listening to me Blink-"
"Nono- I am, but, if he says no I guess you were right, but what if he says yes? I really like him Sniper..."
Sniper looked at Blink, a little concerned but, overall, willing to let him try.

Later that night, Blink looked at Mush, who was just sitting on his bed reading a newspaper. He knew he had to, but Blink was so nervous to ask him out he was sweating, and fidgeting. "Hes going to say no..." He whispered to himself, tearing up, "Hes just going to say no, it's useless..." He made the decision then and there that he wasn't going to go. Sniper was right, he doesn't like him, he shouldn't get his hopes up. But Sniper noticed Blink wasn't as excited as before so asked him, "You're not gonna go ask him out?"
"No...your right, he's going to say no." Blink sniffled.
"Hey- Blink, don't get upset. Look, I stupid, and I know you really like him, and I don't want to come between your chance of dating the guy you like. It's ok if he says no, there's plenty of other fish in the sea, as they say."
Blink look down and nodded and wiped his tears before getting and heading to Mush's bed.
"Hi..." Blink looked at Mush, trying to hide his nervousness.
Mush looked up and smiled at him, "Oh, hey Blink, what's up?"
"Nothing much," Blink sat down, "What are you doing tommorow, after selling?"
Mush thought, "Nothing really, why?"
Blink thought for a bit, before taking a deep breath and asking, "Would you like to go out tommorow? With me?"
Mush smiled and nodded, "Yeah I'd love that."
Blink felt his heart flutter as he blushed softly, "Really?"
"Yeah, sounds like fun. And I always like being around you."
Blink smiled so sincerely, "So- see you tommorow?"
"Yeah, can't wait, see you tommorow."
