It was Christmas time, 22th December and Albie was getting ready to spend Christmas with his father, aunt, his brothers and their fiancés. Finch watched Albert pack his bag. He smiled. But Albie wasnt excited. He kissed Finch, "Are you gonna be ok?"
Finch smiled, "What? You scared I'm gonna burn this place down? I'll miss you, but I'll be ok." He took Albies jaw and kissed him slowly, "Will you be ok?"
"Yeh! Yeh...I'll be fine..."
Finch raised an eyebrow, "Will you miss me?"
Albert nodded, theres nothing exciting about Christmas for him, he doesnt receive gifts, hes the only kid there, he'd rather be with Finch. Finch hugged him tightly, "You go enjoy yourself."
Albert smiled, "I'll try."
It was silent for a second when Finch got an idea, "Tonight...at exactly 9pm, you can come outside, and I'll be there behind the allyway, then, give you a kiss and a hug."
Albert laughed, "That's sounds perfect." He kissed Finch again, "I love you." He sighed,
"What an honor." Finch smirked. Albie looked at him and frowned. Finch smiled and hugged him, "I love you." He mumbles. Albert rolled his eyes, "I'm just about done with your dumbass." He said cheekily, and continued packing.

When it was time to leave, Albie kissed Finch one last time. Then left. Finch watched him, he couldnt wait for 9 o'clock. He went back inside as he saw newsies with families pack up their stuff and get ready to leave as well. He skipped his way to Jack, ready to be annoying. "Hey, Jack, since not many people will be here today, you wanna go and do some betting with me?" Jack looked at him, "Finch, despite that being extremely illigal, I'm actually going to Daveys house for the holidays. His family invited me."
Finch rolled his eyes, "Fine, I'll hang out with the twins." He made his was to Mike and Ike, "Hello fellas, wanna go out, do some gambling with me?" Mike shook his head, "Sorry, Buddy, Jojo wants to go to mass, and I know for sure the church is warmer during this time." And Ike agreed, "Yeh, I'm going to Brooklyn, they have hot water and I can spend time with my boyfriend."
Finch sighed and looked around for anybody else, Fizz has his mom to visit, maybe Henry? Nope, he has family to visit too. And all the rest are boring. He just made his way to his bed and lay down, bored. He missed Albert. He looked at the clock on the wall. But it was only 3 o'clock. He got an idea and went to Race, but saw him backing too, "Where are you going?" Race smiled at him, "No where, why?" Finch pointed at his back he was packing, "Oh I'm not going anywhere, this is Buttons bag, I'm just looking to find anything interesting."
"Ok well, do you want to go out gambling?"
"Hell no."
"What?! But you love gambling!"
"Yeh, but it's December 22nd, the time where people are desperate looking for money, perfect time for scammers."
Finch looked defeated, "Fucking hell, no-one wants to do anything with me."
"We can always do something else."
"Like what?"
"Fair point," Racetrack took out a 5 dollar note from Buttons bag, "Sweet!"
"Put it back, Buttons will be upset."
"Pfft, ok, I was anyways." Race put it in his pocket. "Hey-" both of the jumped to see Jack appeared from behind Race, "I saw that, put it back Race, you don't ever steal from other newsies."
"Nonono- you miss understood, I was just um-" Race stumbled for words.
"We were going to bet on in and get more money to surprise Buttons because we know how hard he works." Finch chimed in,
"YEP! Exactly."
"Right, so you were going to gamble his money? What would you do if you lost all the money?" Jack raised an eyebrow,
"We won't! We promise." Race swore. Jack nodded, "Fine, but if you lose that money, I'm going to make you tell poor Buttons to his face what you did, and then, you'll pay back every cent." He smiled, amused and left.
Race sighed, "There's no way I'm risking it, I'll just put the money back."
"No don't! Think about it, poor Buttons works harder than everyone here, plus, it won't hurt to try."
"Are you crazy? What if we lose the money, we'll have to say to his face what we did, I can't handle seeing the dude cry, he's too nice."
"We won't! Please- I'm bored as fuck."
Race thought about it. "Fine, ok I'm in, but if we win anything over 3 dollars, I'm keeping a dollar."
Finch rolled his eyes and nodded, "Fine. Deal."

Back at his house, Albert felt out of place, it was all talking about work, and grown up stuff. He's bored, hungry, and missing Finch.
"Albert." His aunt nudges, "How about you, bringing home any pretty girls soon?" Everybody looked at Albert as he goes red, "Uh no, sorry, auntie..."
"Aw why not?" His eldest brother teased.
Cause I have a super cute boyfriend I'd rather be kissing right now than be here
"Just...not that interested in that."
Albert shrugged.
"Don't worry, we always knew you weren't interested in girls." His other brother said, causing them both to laugh. But Albies dad turned to them and shot them a look, "Seriously, you are both engaged and still act like children, I'm embarrassed for you."
The both shut up. Albert laughed a little, and when his dad got up to get something from the kitchen, Albie went with him to see if he could get something to eat. When they were away from everyone, his dad said, kindly, "You know, it wouldn't cause any issue if you weren't interested in girls."
Albert spluttered, "What? Nonono! Dad, I do like girls- I love them- trust me."
"Well, in that case, it wouldn't cause any issue if you liked boys."
Albert was going to say something but he couldn't find the words. He just mumbled, "I don't dad."
"Ok, buddy." His dad handed him a sandwich, "I love you no matter what." His dad left and Albie stayed in the kitchen and looked at the clock, 4:50. Couldn't time go any slower?
