The cold breeze awakened my senses. May nararamdaman akong nakahawak sa aking kamay. Slowly, I opened my eyes, only to find Wren slumped over the bed, fast asleep.
We were in a four-cornered room with white-painted walls. My suspicions were confirmed upon seeing an IV line inserted into my skin. I was in a hospital with Warren.
"Win, you're awake!" masiglang sabi sa akin ni Warren. Nagising ko yata siya.
I managed to smile at him. My body was extremely exhausted. The last thing I remember was being at The Tipsy Tavern.
"You're three days unconscious, Win. I'm glad you're awake now," sambit ni Warren at saka niya ako niyakap.
"Let me call the doctor to check on you." Akmang aalis na siya ngunit pinigilan ko siya.
"Did they find out about the ketamine?" I asked him.
Nahinto si Warren. He looked at me with concern and nodded.
"Did someone drug you at The Tipsy Tavern, Win?" he asked.
Umiling ako. "I bought it from stranger, Wren."
Napasapo siya sa kaniyang mukha. Halatang dismayado sa mga sinabi ko.
"Araw-araw bumibisita ang local police officers sa 'yo, Win. They were investigating your case. If they find out that you used the drug recreationally, you could possibly end up in jail!"
Kinabahan ako sa mga sinabi niya. I was so irrational that time. Hindi ko naisip ang mga p'wedeng kahinatnan nito.
"If they ask you about it, tell them you don't know. Kailangan nating palabasing sinadiya kang painumin nito. Nako, Win! Ano bang naiisipan mo!" Wren was so frustrated. I could see it in the way he acted.
"Just because Rendy announced that he's dating Francis doesn't mean it's already the end of your life! 29 years kang nagsikap para sa sarili mo tapos sisirain mo lang dahil sa walang k'wentang lalaki na 'yon? Are you out of your mind, Win?" Namumula na ang mukha niya. He was so pissed after finding out what I had just done.
"Papatayin mo pa ang sarili mo dahil lang hiniwalayan ka niya. Hindi ba dapat maging masaya ka dahil nakalaya ka na sa putanginang 'yon? Win, it's a victory, not a defeat!"
I could feel my tears welling up in my eyes. Ni hindi ko naisip na may taong mag-alala sa akin kung mawawala ako. I was so selfish that I didn't think about the people who still love me. Masiyado akong nabulag ng sakit ng pagmamahal ko kay Rendy.
"I will call the doctor. Remember what I told you, Win. Lie about the ketamine. Hindi ko kaya kung makukulong ka dahil sa pagiging padalos-dalos mo," he said and left the room.
Nang maiwan mag-isa ay lumayag na naman ang isip ko patungo kay Ren. I wonder where he is or what he's doing. Kumusta na kaya siya? Is he thinking of me? Did he even visit me here? I should be moving on, but why am I still imprisoned by his memories? Sobrang tanga mo talaga, Win!
