🚩21: Behind the ruins of fire

Ganoon lang din kabilis na makalaya si Rendy. A day after that incident, he was freed from the jail with an approved bail. Though the case is still on going until the day of trial. We still need to find Win since we need him in the court trial.

Day and night, I didn't stop finding him. I posted on my social media accounts, visited every town and posted missing posters in every places that I have been.

Nasaan ka na Win? Sobrang pinag-aalalala mo na ako.

"Drink some water," said Pablo as he gave me a bottled water.

Nagpapahinga kami ngayon dahil kakatapos lang namin mag-ikot-ikot sa baranggay San Isidro upang magpaskil ng mga poster.

"Thank you," I told him as I took the water. Uminom ako at nang matapos ay bumalik ako sa paglalagay ng mga paskil sa pader.

"Magpahinga ka muna kaya?" tanong sa akin ni Pablo.

I stopped and looked at him. A sad smile born out of my lips. "I need to find him. Hindi ako p'wedeng magpahinga."

I wasn't the only one heartbroken by Win's disappearance. The people around us were just as worried as I was because we had no leads on where Win might be hiding. Miski sila Amanda at Calvin ay tumutulong na rin sa amin sa paglalagay ng mga poster sa pader, umaasang sa bawat lugar na binibisita namin ay makikita namin siya o kahit man lang makakapagturo sa amin sa kinaroroonan niya.

When lunch time came, we just planned to meet the rest of our friends at the nearest fast food restaurant. Dahil sa kabilang baryo ang pinuntahan nila Amanda at Calvin ay nagpasiya kaming apat na doon na lang magkita-kita.

We spotted them in a table near the glass wall. Nagtungo kami papalapit sa kanila.

"Kumusta kayo? Any lead?" I asked.

Kapwa sila umiling. "Makikita rin natin si Win," sabi ni Amanda.

"I hope he's fine," said Calvin.

I asked for their food. Ako na ang bahalang sumagot ng pagkain nila dahil sa tulong na binibigay nila sa akin upang mahanap si Win. Pablo accompanied me in the counter. Medyo mahaba ang pila ngayon dahil may karamihan ang tao.

"Only if Rendy allowed us to talk to him then it wouldn't be difficult for us to find Win," Pablo uttered.

"About that, I already hired a cover-up agent to check on him. Maingat talaga si Rendy kaya hindi pa tayo makakuha ng impormasiyon mula sa kaniya." Hindi pa rin ako nawawalan nang pag-asa na makakuha ng kahit anong makakatulong upang makita namin si Win.

"Mahal na mahal mo si Win, 'no?"

Napalingon ako kay Pablo. He was smiling, but the sadness was still evident on his face.

"I love him more than my life, Pab." I mean every word of it. Mahal ko si Win. Mahal na mahal ko siya. He was there when we were just tiny little kids. We grew up together, witnessed our own victories and celebrated even the smallest winnings in our lives. I saw every version of Win. The joyful Win, the cry-baby potato, the grumphy one, and even the clever sexy version of him. Maybe that's the reason why I fall down deep there. I couldn't figure out how to lift myself from the pit I created since I was enjoying it. I wonder when Win will notice my feelings? Hindi niya ba talaga napapansin o sadiyang iniiwasan niya lang ito?

We spent the following days searching for him, posting posters on every wall we passed. I didn’t get tired. My burning desire to find him didn’t fade. Day by day, my eagerness to find him increased. It felt as if we were getting closer.
