"Oh—yeah, um..." How do I bring this up? Their reaction to this might hinge on how I approach the defense lessons...

I stand up and say, "Do you guys, uh, notice anything odd about my shadow?"

Their expressions shift from concern to confusion, especially my dad's.
"Um—no?"

So, it's something only we can see...?

"Are we supposed to see something?" my mom asks.
"Uh—no, it's nothing. But we do need your help. You see—Logan's been getting bullied—" At that, their faces harden, and their posture stiffens. I should've known that would get their attention.

After I explain our plan, convincing them doesn't take much.

"But are your parents okay with this?" The group tenses up.

"Uhhh..."

"Yeah—ask them first," my dad says.
"We don't need an angry mob of parents knocking on our door because their kids are coming home with bruises," my mom adds.

~~~~~~AT THE GRAVEYARD~~~~~~
Tyler was grumbling as he poured water into the storage system.
"Isn't it a bit ironic?" he said. "We picked this place for its high walls, and now we have to reinforce them."
As usual, Aiden had to chime in with a snarky comment. Sometimes I wondered if he was asking for trouble. Maybe today would be the day he got it.
"Yeah, well, we didn't exactly expect the phantoms to be able to scale a thirteen-foot concrete wall," Aiden retorted.
Taylor, ever the peacemaker, stepped in to calm things down. "We're here now, so let's just make the best of it and move forward."
"Agreed," I added. "Another plus of being in the graveyard is that we can set traps around the area during the day."
