She blinked as she tried to process the situation in front of her. Weapons pointed at her. She looked up and saw soldiers dressed in much different garments from her own.

Soldiers were dressed plain and simple in robes. While she was definitely not dressed from this era nor as a commoner. She was dressed common for her era but extravagant for this time period.

Then a thunder boomed and a chorus of narly snarls was heard as a portal opened and out came the monsters.

The soldiers immediately withdrew their weapons on her and aimed them at the monsters.

However they were no match for the ugly looking beasts. Yuqi immediately got up and jumped over the remaining guards standing before her.

She jumped right into the fray of soldiers and monsters and used her cultivation to land punches on the creatures.

But she was pushed back by the amount of monsters surrounding her. She slid to the ground and crouched down. One leg stretched sideways the other bend, her hands bent like claws as she called upon her nine tails to appear.

It gave her a massive surge of power and a burst of her cultivation rippled like a wave destroying the monsters.

She panted as she got up and dusted herself off. She turned to the soldiers and checked if they were alright.

"You, who are you? No doesn't matter you just saved us. I think the king will be interested in meeting you." She assumed who was the captain spoke and she nodded.

He nodded and bowed to her and she copied their bow and did the same. It didn't take long before they reached a large village with a large mansion which was probably the home of the king.

They led her to the large mansion and entered it after bowing to the guards in front of it.

The captain gided her through many halls as they finally reached large doors. This must be the main hall.

He turned to her. "Wait here, till I call for you." He ordered and she nodded. He entered the large hall and there sat a large elderly man. He had white hair and a beard that's trimmed.

He was wearing black robes rimmed with gold markings. A golden head crown tying his hair in a ponytail.

"Your highness, today we found a girl, she's not from here. Dressed differently, she's a nine tailed fox spirit and helped us defeat the monsters." The captain informed him.

The man stroked his beard and glanced at him, he was bored yet intrigued. "Oh? I assume you brought her with?"

"Yes my lord."

"Bring her in." He ordered and the captain bowed and left to fetch her. Yuqi walked in and bowed in respect to the man. The king waved his hand informing his subordinates to leave the room.

"Tell me your name."

"It's Yuqi my lord." She introduced herself. The man smiled and laughed.

"Great, this is great. You're from the future are you not?" He asked and her eyes widened.

"So the portal is used yet again. It's been years since it was last used."

"How does my lord know about the portal?" She asked curiously.

He laughed again. "Silly girl. I was the one who build it."

Her eyes widened. "You're the great demon Lord? Minho's father?"

His eyes narrowed at her. "You know my son, what's your relationship with him?" He asked as he got up off his throne and walked closer towards her.

"I helped him in the war to beat the main tribes."

He chuckled. "He's still spewing his nonsense about equality for all demons?"

He glanced curiously at him. "I see, you're his intended. Tell me Yuqi what brings you to the past?"

"I'm here to find Minho's primordial spirit. He got badly hurt during the war. It was a soul shattering blade that did it. Thankfully he's got a chance for revival thanks to the dragon pearl."

The man smiled. "So you travelled all the way to the past, facing the danger of the monsters just to revive my son?"

Yuqi nodded.

"Excellent, my son chose well. You'd make a great queen for my son. I feared you were too soft when I sensed his pearl residing in you. But I guess you're not that soft if you're here."

"I'll do anything for Minho."

"You know besides the soul gathering, the ritual requires a lot to be able to be completed."

"I don't know, Changbin would tell me after I returned."

"Changbin? So my grandson is still alive. He's smarter then his father. Minjoon was a fool, too greedy for his own good."

He walked to the table, and gestured for her to join him. "Come sit, daughter in law." Yuqi inevitably blushed at that comment.

"I don't understand something my lord."

He waved his hand. "Please call me father, what don't you understand?"

"Why you think Minjoon was a fool? A failure? Isn't he exactly your image?" She asked hoping she didn't cross any boundaries and insulted him.

The man laughed.

"I suppose history does make me out to be a vile and greedy demon Lord. But that's the thing with history, it changes on who's point of view it's told in."
