The next morning, Pon was discharged from the hospital.

On the first day of regaining freedom, he once again felt the warmth of the sun shining upon the earth.

Pon was overwhelmed with joy and couldn’t help but hop around on the steps of the hospital.

However, he only got to hop a few times when his brother remorsefully told him something.

Upon hearing the news of her youngest son’s discharge, Sammy was delighted and especially sent her greetings from a thousand miles away.

She instructed her second son to make sure her youngest son attended his classes.

If he heads over now, he can still catch the afternoon classes.

As soon as Pon heard this, his face fell, expressing disbelief.
“Her son was finally released from prison, yet she doesn’t care about my mental health and instead worries about sending me to school?”

Pon’s voice raised by eight decibels. “Is she still a loving mother?!”

Day ended the call and looked at his younger brother with sympathy. “Our mother has never been a loving mother. Just give up. It was like this when I was in my third year too. It was already a blessing that you didn’t have to go to tutoring classes during the National Day break.”

“But I’m only in my second year of high school!” Pon protested.

“As long as you’re in high school, you have no rights. Accept your fate,” Day replied.

Pon instantly wilted and got into Zee’s car reluctantly.

Sailub followed him into the car, and Pon leaned onto him, sighing, unaware that Sailub’s body had stiffened.

For the following two hours of the car ride, Sailub’s body remained stiff.

When they arrived at the school, it was indeed as Sammy had said, they made it just in time for the afternoon classes.

Sailub and Pon ate lunch outside the school before stepping into the classroom.

It was just after lunch break, and the class was still lively chatting away, cherishing the last ten minutes of the break before the class.

When Sailub and Pon entered, the class fell silent for a moment.

The scene was strikingly similar to the day when Pon returned to school after he presented.

Pon walked to his seat and looked around skeptically.

He nudged Belle, who was sitting in the row in front of him and asked, "Be honest. Why are you all looking at me like that?"

Belle took a deep breath, struggling with whether to tell the truth.

“Well, you see, the thing is… as an alpha, I’m not really comfortable saying it myself,” Belle pushed her deskmate, Neo, and said, “You say it, you’re a beta.”

Neo glared at her. “What’s with the gender discrimination?”

Turning to face Pon’s questioning gaze, Neo shrank his neck timidly and said quietly, “It’s nothing much, but basically, our whole grade knows that you were isolated because you were in heat.”

Pon almost spat out his water.

He silently sat down at his desk, not even bothering to pick up his book anymore.

His eyes scanned his surroundings with a threatening look, “The heck? I haven’t even arrived at school yet, someone explain to me, how come the gossip got here faster than me.”
