I'M OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE

But Pon didn’t expect that his mom, who was so reliable, could also have unreliable moments.

On the morning of the second day of the Lunar New Year, he had already packed his luggage and was sitting down to have breakfast when his mom informed him that their company had encountered unexpected issues, and they needed to stay a few more days.

The company would cover all the expenses resulting from the delay.
“I’ve changed your flights as well. We’ll go back on the eighth,” Sammy said.

She was actually having a bit of a headache as well, but changing the plans from the second to the eighth wasn’t a big deal, so she didn’t argue much with the company.

However, when she looked up, she saw Pon’s face full of shock, so much that he even dropped the bread he was holding.

“Why didn’t you say this earlier?”

It was the first time since Pon arrived here that he showed such a distressed expression. “You changed my flight without even letting me know!”

On New Year’s Eve, he had talked to Sailub on the phone, and he promised him that he could come back on the second.

Sailub gently agreed, mentioning that the plum blossoms in the courtyard had bloomed, and he would cut a few branches to put in his bedroom when he returned.

And just last night, he told Sailub that they could meet tomorrow.
But now, he couldn’t go back.

Pon was on the verge of tears from anger, his face also turning pale, yet he had to hold back his anger and couldn’t vent it at his mom. He could only grit his teeth tightly.

Actually, the second to the eighth wasn’t very long.

However, Sailub had already prepared to go to the airport to pick him up on the third.

How could he let Sailub’s expectations be shattered time and time again?

Sammy didn’t expect him to react so strongly, and for a moment, she felt a little flustered.

She understood the least about her youngest son, and while Pon could be mischievous at times, he always had a good temper towards his family. It was rare to see him so distressed.

“Are you going back because you have an important plan?” Sammy asked him, feeling uncertain.

Pon didn’t speak.

He didn’t have any important plans. He just wanted to go back to see Sailub.

“I’m going upstairs first,” Pon left the half-empty coffee cup and the whole fried egg that he hadn’t finished.

He tried very hard to smile at his mom but didn’t succeed.

Back upstairs, Pon saw his neatly packed suitcase leaning against the wall, a silver suitcase, the same one as Sailub's.

He sat on the bed and zoned out for a while, still unsure of how to break the news to Sailub.

But his phone rang before he could figure it out, and Sailub’s name appeared on the screen.

Pon answered the call with a weak voice, “Hello?”

There was a moment of silence from Sailub’s end before he asked, “You can’t take off today, right?”

Pon hadn’t expected that Sailub already knew about it, and he panicked for a moment.

“…Mn.”

If Sailub hadn’t asked, it would have still been alright. Now that he did, Pon felt even worse. He didn’t know how to respond to Sailub.
