When Pon and Sailub qfinished shopping and returned to their dormitory. It was almost 9:30 pm.
Way from the dormitory next door happened to be coming back as well, and they exchanged greetings.
Pon’s gaze fell upon the bag of vegetables and meat in Way’s hand, and he curiously asked, “Are you planning to cook? But there’s no kitchen in the room, right?”
Way pushed his glasses up on the bridge of his nose. He had fair skin, pale lips, and jet-black eyes and eyelashes.
When he looked at people, there was always a sense of aloofness and distance.
However, the words he spoke were very down-to-earth.
“I’m planning to have hotpot,” Way explained. “The electrical circuits in the south building are more reliable than the ones in the dormitory area. It can easily handle hotpot. You should try it next time too.”
He thought for a moment and added, “Do you want to join in? I bought quite a lot of food.”
Pon shook his head, “Sai and I just had dinner and we’re not hungry, but how did you manage to confidently carry so much food inside? Did the security guard not stop you?”
Way smirked and took out a neatly folded, enormous shopping bag from his pocket. It was a pitch-black cloth bag that could securely wrap everything.
Pon understood.
Back in their own dormitory, Pon sprawled on the sofa and said to Sailub, “I’ve noticed that the people living in the south building have quite a rich leisure life. Next time, let’s also make hotpot.”
Sailub fetched a bottle of water from the cabinet.
He didn’t believe that Pon would actually make hotpot. He knew that in the end, it would be all on him, from buying the ingredients to actually cooking it.
“Alright, go take a shower quickly,” Sailub patted Pon on the back. “Tomorrow morning, Nono is in charge of morning self-study. If you’re late again and end up getting punished, I’m not saving you.”
Nono was their homeroom teacher. His real name was Noeul. However, on one occasion, when he accidentally revealed his “Nono” nickname, everyone in Year 2, Class 1 started calling him that.
He teaches Thai language and Maths and is a pretty nice person, but his personality can be quite strict.
Out of the ten times Pon was late, eight of them was caught by Nono. Pon would often be punished to stand in the corridor as a consequence.
However, ever since Nono noticed that Pon could still doze off even in the corridor, he brought him under closer supervision and made him recite lessons directly in front of him.
Pon covered his face with a cushion and muffled, “Nono, I have a love-hate relationship with you.”
Noeul is indeed dedicated and responsible.
One time, when Pon’s math performance slipped slightly, Noeul took him to his office and spent over half an hour analyzing the mistakes in his exercises.
He didn’t scold him, but instead encouraged him to do better next time. However, when it came to Pon sleeping in class, skipping evening self-study, or skipping classes in general,
Nono was more diligent in catching him than anyone else.
Pon couldn’t help but wonder, “Why doesn’t he catch you? You sleep in class as much as I do.”
No fair.
Sailub responded, “Isn’t it because you always seek excitement for yourself? I consistently rank in the top three in every exam, but you sometime rank second and sometimes tenth. Last time, you even got 37th place, Nono was so worried.”
