Yuvaan
How do I work in the same place as her?
The one girl in the entire world which I don't want to be around. One girl.I watched her through my office window. She was working with her team.
She seemed so confident when I'm not around.
Ugh.
I tried to tear my eyes away. Her in a kurta was something I used to always want to see.Flashback:
"What are you wearing tomorrow?"
"Yuv! I'll wear simple pants and a sweatshirt!"
"No Nishu, wear your kurta. Seeing you in that just brightens my day."
"Really?"
"Yes, my love."
"Okay. I'll wear that! For you!" She said and kissed my cheek.End.
I felt my hand touching my cheek. I can't work with her, but she's so good at her job.
Seeing Neel today pushed me back in the past. Neel and I were best friends, even though he's 5 years younger to me, we'd hang out always and now I see him with this weird look on his face.
Does he not know that it's his sister's fault that we're not together anymore?!
What story did she tell him then?
I don't care.It was 6pm when I packed my stuff and decided to head home. I waited by the gate for the valet to get my card when I noticed Nishtha standing outside, looking at her phone and then the road.
Is she waiting for a cab?
Not your business, Yuvaan.
I reached to the gate when she noticed me and looked away instantly, on the side.I got in my car and then started to drive off when it started to rain heavily.
Shit.
I looked back and saw her standing there.
I reversed the car and stood in front of her and honked, she looked at me and I spoke, "Come."
Her face widened, "what?"
"I said come in Nishtha, you won't get a cab."
"No. I'm not going anywhere with you."
I clenched my jaw, "I'm not asking you. Sit."
She quickly got alert and slowly did as I said and sat in the car and I started driving.I looked at her after 10 minutes of silence while she looked outside. She was nervous. Her hands were playing with the hem of her kurta - which she always does when she's nervous.
"I'm not going to eat you." I said.
She looked at me, "You can drop me off. I'll go."
"I'll drop you off at home, then you can go."
"I don't want to go anywhere with you."
I was angry again, "does it look like I want to be with someone like you?!"
She was startled but she covered it up, "I didn't ask you to drop me, you did this."
"I have some humanity. Unlike some people."
"Excuse me?! What humanity?!"
"Don't go there Nishtha."
"Go where? You mean how you threw me out of your house in the name of humanity?!"
"And what did you do, huh?!"
"I didn't do anything Yuvaan. I told you then, I'm telling you now." She screamed, "You are a brat who refuses to listen to anyone."
"Excuse me?! You want me to take your word when you toyed with my trust." I screamed.
"I didn't play with your trust Yuvaan."
"Sure you didn't, you bloody liar."
"That's enough! You're the reason whatever happened. I called you so many times, so many times to get you to talk, but you just threw me away like I was trash." She screamed.
She was fueling my anger.
"Get down." I said, stopping the car on the sidewalk.
"What?" She asked, shocked.
"I said get down." I said, clenching my jaw.
"Where are we?"
"I don't care. Go find your way home."
She gulped.
I don't care. Ungrateful person.
"It was a mistake hiring you. Leave my life and my company."
"I hate you, Yuvaan."
"The feeling is mutual."She got down. I drove off, leaving her in the rain.
Once I reached home, I threw my shirt away and changed into track pants and went for a run. I need to clear my mind.
How dare she accuse me of breaking us?
This is the girl you wanted Yuvaan?! Really?!
Bloody disgusting.
I can't stand her. She won't work in my office. I don't care. I'm not going to have her. In fact, I'm going to ask her to resign tomorrow morning.
I ran, soaking in the rain, until I reached the one place we both used to constantly meet at.Sampoorna Bhagwan Mandir.
I groaned as to why my footsteps led me here, but I went inside anyway. It was closed since it was raining. I went inside and saw someone sitting on the carpet, near the idol.
Nishtha.
Why was she here?
I went closer and saw her crying. Why does my heart burn seeing her crying?
You made her cry, Yuvaan. She was soaked in the rain. I saw some people around there looking at her. She didn't care.
Where was Aaji? Aaji can fix her.
This is your mess Yuvaan.
I don't care. She deserves it. Ungrateful woman.
I walked towards the temple and saw if she'd notice me but she didn't. Her eyes were blurry and she wouldn't be able to see anything with the tears.
I messed up.
So did she, 4 years back. This is karma.
I couldn't get myself to pray so I ran off.I arrived early in the office the next day. I had to.
"Where is everyone?" I asked.
You're only asking for one person.
"They're upstairs."
I walked up and saw the consulting team with Rupert. I walked in and greeted them, "Hello."
"Yuvaan. Hi!" Rupert said.
"How's everything going?"
"Perfect, we'll all ready to launch. We can save the day now."
"Great." My eyes looking around, "when?"
"I'd say we can do this weekend. How's that?"
"Yep works."
"Great."
"Start sending the RSVPs to the important clients and potential consultants. I will also let my colleagues know."
"Sure, and how many of us are launching?"
"All of us. The whole team should be there."
"I agree. Sure."
"But I don't see the whole team right now, where is Nishtha?"
"Oh. She's not well."
"What?" I said, turning to them, fully.
"Yeah Sir," one engineer, her friend, said.
"She is admitted to the hospital."✨
