Yuvaan

Oh God. She's still so hot. God No.
Why did I have to see that?
"Nishtha!" I yelled, "Food is here. Come." She came down in a basic loose top and shorts and then sat down next to me.

I was eating in silence until I noticed her changes over the years. She doesn't eat much, she doesn't talk much, she doesn't even fight for what she wants - unlike before.
She's even eating the capsicum on the pizza.
She hates that.
"Nishtha!" I said, grabbing her chair towards me, "What are you doing?"
"What am I doing?" She asked, lost.
"Look at your pizza." I said.
She looked; then looked back at me, "And?"
"And?! Since when do you have capsicum on the pizza?! You hate that, right?"
She looked down then back at me, "Uhh... yeah. It's okay now. I don't hate it."
I sighed, "why are you doing this?!"
"What am I doing?"
"Nishtha!" I said, taking her plate and started removing the capsicum as we spoke, "I don't understand why you are doing this, why have you lost yourself, Nishu?!"
"What did... you say?" She asked.
Who am I kidding?
I can't see her as anything but my Nishu.
"I said Nishu, Nishtha..."
Her face changed into a mixture of relief and fear. Maybe she still wants us back.
Do I want her back?
Heck yes I do, but a part of me stops it.
"I thought you... don't call me that... I—"
"Don't talk, Nishtha. Just eat, and eat your food problem without doing nonsense of having it with the capsicum."
She chuckled and I looked at her, then she looked down instantly and her eyes changed. I noticed this and felt a bit upset.
"Laughing doesn't cost. Just saying." I said.
She looked at me and then gave a small smile and continued eating.
"Tastes better without it, na?"
She smiled and nodded, "Way better."
"So...." I said, "How was Chicago?"
She again looked at me, shocked, "W...what?"
"Are you deaf?"
"No."
"I asked you, how was Chicago?"
"It was... good."
"Bas? 4 years you spent there and you say it's good?" I mocked, "did you really go?"
"I did go Yuvi—" her eyes widened and she cleared her throat, "Y..Yuvaan."
I felt my heart relax at her use of my nickname. I don't think I realized how much I need her around.... All the time.
"You... you can call me that." I said.
"What?" She asked, afraid.
"You can call me Yuvi, I don't mind."
"Oh... umm... thanks."
Should I ask about the past? Would she talk?
I hated the awkwardness.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked her.
"Yeah?"
I held her hand, "What happened that day?"
She looked at me, shocked and fear evident in her eyes, "W...what day?"
"You know what day I'm talking about."
"I... I don't remember."
"That's nonsense. I know you know."
"You already know what happened."
"So you agree that what happened is the truth."
She didn't answer.
"Nishtha, if that's not the truth then why don't you bloody talk to me." I said.
She looked down with tears in her eyes, "It... it's the truth..." she said letting her hand go.
"Oh it's the truth, is it?! Why, then, did you tell me that day that it wasn't?!"
"I... I'm sorry. I need to go." She said and got up. I got up with her and grabbed her hand, pinning her to the wall, "I need answers, Nishtha."
"You have the answers you need."
"You know I don't believe it."
"You believed it for 4 years, why can't you continue believing it, then?" She said.
I felt anger rising in my veins.
God.
"Stop pissing me off, Nishtha."
"Let me go Yuvaan... it's.. it's hurting." She said through tears.
"You are just a liar. A bloody compulsive liar, and if not that... you're a bloody fool." I said and let her go and walked away.

I reached my room and started to punch my punching bag again. She was making me furious. Big time furious.
Why is she just accepting it when I've heard her tell Vamika? Should I be asking Vamika?
Oh who am I kidding, they both are in this together, they won't talk.
I groaned in frustration and then picked up my phone, "Have you found out anything?!"
"We're onto something. We've found some call records of the person that she was meeting that time, but it's not matching to anyone she knows on her phone directory. How did you manage to give her phone directory?"
"I took it when she was sleeping."
"Well, no match on that. She has changed her number as well."
"Who has her old number now?"
"Some lady in Shimla."
"Okay, contact her, and get her consent to access all call records before she got the phone."
"Okay, we'll get it done. I've already sent the consent form, it'll come soon. I hope."
"What about that girl Bua brought home?"
"We're trying to find her."
"Okay."

I cut the call and soon, Mom called.
"Hi beta." she said on call, "How are you?"
"Good."
"How is Nishtha?"
"She's fine." I lied, we fight everyday.
"I hope so. Listen, I wanted to call to let you guys know that come home tomorrow evening."
"Why?"
"We're hosting a reception for you this weekend and we need to give you some briefings. I've invited Nishtha's family too."
"Okay."
"And also.... Umm.."
"What happened?"
"Yuvaan... Bua is coming back from America. She'll be there at the dinner tomorrow."
Oh. Shit.
