Nishtha

I sat in my room.
Today was extremely enlightening and I'd be lying if I said I didn't fall more in love with him. Him picking apart what might have scared me and going to solve it - he wants to change.

Let him in, Nishtha.

After finding out about everything, I went and called Aai and told her about it. She was more than glad to find out, so was I.

But everyone's mentality bothered me. It's not always about blood. I can adopt. Aai never said no to adoption, but the fact that I was afraid to say it to Maa and Papa made me realise that the idea of adoption is still so taboo in society, and it shouldn't be. Adoption is being able to give a home to someone who needs it.

Blood may be thicker than water but humanity is thicker than blood.

Then I thought of how Yuvaan said it with no hesitation that we'd adopt. He didn't think this taboo, he didn't think twice before agreeing to do it. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't upset when I realised that I'll not have my own child and I'd have to adopt - but it's not because I don't like adopting, it's because every woman dreams to carry their child, to feel their first kick in her stomach, to be able to feel the baby grow in her. It's not about not being wanting to adopt.
Nonetheless, I shrugged my thoughts.

After we came back from our chai, Yuvaan said he needs to go out so he left. I went to my room and lay down, processing everything.

He came back late at night. I didn't meet him because he seemed upset, so I decided to talk to him the next day.

Now, it was the next day.

It was 9am. I had taken a day to work from home since it's flexible with me, so I went down and made chai for me and him, who was sitting on the couch, typing on his laptop. I went to him and gave him his cup. He smiled and took it.

I got my laptop and sat next to him.
He noticed and looked at me, "Hi Darling."
"Hi." I gave him a small smile.
"Not that I'm complaining, but why this change of heart today?"
"I... I wanted to thank you for yesterday."
"You don't need to thank me."
"I do. I told Aai about it and she seems happy."
"That's nice. What else did she say?"
"Kuch nahi." I lied.
"Bata!" He said, teasing me.
"She said we should make use of the chance and plan a kid."
He laughed, "I knew it."

We sat in silence after that and worked for a bit until I asked him what he wanted to eat. He replied with the fact that he already ordered food and that I can relax.

I looked at him, "Is there something that's bothering you? Or someone?"
He looked my way, "Why?"
"You've been really silent and your typing in anger, so I just thought that—"
"Well, it's your family friend. I'm trying to find dirt on her so she goes through exactly what she tried to make you go through."

I looked at him in awe. I couldn't control myself and I hugged him tightly. He froze for a second and then chuckled and hugged me back.

After 3 minutes, I let go and he looked at me. "I was waiting for the day when you'd come willingly to hug me."
I looked down, "Today was the day."

I saw Yuvaan getting a call and he answered it, then after 10 minutes, he came to me, "Listen, we're going clubbing tonight."
"What?" I asked, surprised.
"Yeah." He said, "Arush and Rohan called Aditi and Priya and so they want us to join."
"Aditi and Priya?" I asked surprised.

When did they patch up?

"I spoke." He said, as if he read my mind.
"Oh." I said.
"Be ready by 9." He said.
