Nishtha

Today was the launch of Ghar. Everyone from all around the country had come, as it was an event hosted by YUVA.
The name itself drags people in.
I was dressed in a simple blue saree and Yuvaan matched my outfit by wearing a blue shirt underneath his suit. I was happy for Baba. This had been a great dream for him and it was finally coming true.
Thanks to Yuvaan.

We had been here since 8am and I was tired. The event was on for almost 13 hours, with the guests finally leaving by around 9pm. Everyone was insanely tired. Now, Aaji had gone home and the kitchen was closed. We had many investors who offered to invest in Ghar. I was most surprised that Manoj Verma didn't show up. This was his restaurant as well.

We dropped Aai Baba home and we made our way home. I tried to stay awake but looking at Yuvaan, I realised he wouldn't be down to talking to me anyway, so I took a nap. We reached home in 15 minutes.

"Nishtha. Let's go." Yuvaan said, shaking me.
I got up and followed him home.
Once we reached, the silent aroma of food filled the air.
"Who made dinner?" I asked.
"Jeena."
"Why?"
"We need to eat?" He looked at me confused.
"I already ate at the venue." I said.
"You have fainted less than 2 days ago so please don't trouble me, just go and eat." He said and walked off.
Rude.

I changed into my night clothes and came downstairs and heated the food for me and him. I sensed he isn't coming since I waited for 15 minutes so I quickly ate and then cleaned the kitchen and went upstairs to sleep.
Is he okay?
I tried to walk past his room but I couldn't.
Ugh.
I knocked at his door.
No reply.
I slowly opened it to find him sitting on the floor, kneeling his back on his bed, his head in his hand.
"Are you okay?" I said, coming in.
He looked up, "Nishtha. Go sleep."
"I asked you something." I said, coming close.
"I am fine Nishtha. Just sleep."
"Your head hurts. Doesn't it?"
He looked at me, "how do you know?"
I never forgot, Yuvaan.
I never forgot how you hold your head and give one word answers when you're in pain.
"I... can I help?"
"Unless you're panadol, you can't help." He said.
I quickly went to my room and got a warm bowl of oil and came to his room. I closed the door and sat on the bed, while he was sitting under in front of me, on the floor. My legs came to his either side and I quickly placed the oil bowl next to me.
"What are you doing Nishtha?" He said.
"Shut up." I replied and slowly poured little oil in his hair and started to massage it.
I felt his body relax as his head came a little behind, towards me, as if wanting more. I slowly smiled and continued to massage his hair.

"Does it feel better?" I spoke after 5 minutes of silence.
He replied with a hmm in response.
"Good." I said and finished it off, "it's done."
I left his hair and then got up and went to wash my hands. When I came back, I found him adjusting his bed to sleep.
He saw me.
"I... I'm just getting my phone. I'll go." I said and quickly went to get my phone.
"Nishtha." He said, grabbing my hand.
"Y...yes?"
"Stay here."
My eyes widened, "w...what?"
"I said stay here Nishtha. Sleep here."
"W...why?"
"You're still on medications. Just sleep here."
"I can't..."
"It's not the first time we're sleeping together."
Him and his words that hit old wounds.
There's no point arguing.
"Okay." I said.

I lay down next to him. He was using his phone while I looked at him. He had grown so much. He wasn't the 22 year old boy anymore. He was a mature man. He did everything he said he would. I was so proud of him. If fate allowed it, we would have celebrated each win together.
"I know I'm good looking Nishtha." He spoke.
I instantly looked away, embarrassed, "Sorry."
He left his phone and turned to me, "continue."
"What?" I asked, looking at him.
"Continue your monologue." He said, smirking.
"I... I wasn't having a monologue."
"Sure."
"Whatever. Goodnight." I said and tried to turn when he caught my hand.
"Baba was happy today." He said.
My heart did a backflip hearing him say Baba.
"Yeah..."
I can't talk to him without falling for him.
"I'm sleeping. Goodnight." I quickly said and turned my head in the other direction.

I wasn't asleep, but if I see him, I'll fall for him. I can't afford to fall for him, not when I know that it won't be reciprocated. I'm literally his wife to fix his playboy image. He has multiple women in his life now. I'm not there anymore. I can't give him that place in my life.
He never left that place.
He has to.

I turned to him after 15 minutes and found him deep asleep. He looked so peaceful. I slowly took the blanket and placed it over him nicely.
Don't look, Nishtha.
He's not yours to look at anymore.
I sighed.
I can't stay here. I felt tears my eyes.

I quickly got my phone and ran out into my room. I washed my face and tried to cover the waterfall of tears falling from my face.
He used to be mine.
Why did everything happen?
Everything was going so good.
Now, he's not mine. He's legally my husband and I can't still call him my husband. His eyes look at me with hatred. He belongs to someone, the woman he was with before our wedding. He has someone else in his life.
How did you move on so fast, Yuvaan?
I cried for almost 1 hour.
I look at myself in the mirror.

"I can't fall for him again." I said to myself, "He's not mine anymore. He belongs to someone. His heart belongs to someone. What I did today, I can't do it again. I can't go close to him again. I need to say away. He's not mine to go close to."
