»What?!«

A panic I've never felt before overwhelms me.
My breathing quickens rapidly.

»I will not do anything of the sort!«, Sylus yells.

»You have no choice! It's the fastest and easiest way.«

»No!«, I scream in a heartbreaking way.

»Uh, yes. Come on, little Dove. It's time for you to join your childhood friend. Or...should I call him lover now?«

His smirk is evil and disgusting, while he's coming for me and heaves the chair with me on it and pushes a red button beside the cage. One side opens and he puts me inside, before the see-through door closes again.

»Oh, I think I forgot to tell you one little detail. Your powers are not...supressed in general. It's just that you can't use them. I, on the other hand, can.«

»No...«

Sylus gets completely pale, his eyes locked on Magnus, then turning his shocked gaze to me.

»Ah. Don't worry. She goes first of course. In the end, you will only lose an eye. She will die.«

»What?! My powers...are gone. I lost them in the process of your fucking experiments!«, I explain confused.

»Oh, that's what you think? No, no. You didn't lose anything. You just don't know how to activate them. But I do.«

»What are my powers then?!«

»You're powers are the most dangerous ones ever documented, little Dove. You have the ability to consume the powers of others and use them for yourself! Isn't that fabulous!«

I stare at him.

This can't be true...

Never!

»This is insane! I don't have such powers!«

»You do. And you will see in a few seconds.«

He pushes another button and some kind of control panel comes up out of the floor in front of him.

»No! Stop this! No!«

I scream and struggle so hard in my chair that I cut my wrists, but I don't fucking care!

I don't want to hurt Sylus!

»Calm down, Sweetie! Please, you're bleeding!«

I relax a little, but only because he has this look in his eyes I can't stand.

»I'm so proud I took my fathers place and have the honor to witness this scene with my own eyes!«

»You're a digusting freak!«, I yell at Magnus, my face coated with tears.

»Yeah, maybe I am. But...I think I can live with that.«

He's doing something on the control panel.

»Okay, I think it's time to see what you can do, shall we?«

And then he's done with whatever he did and he watches me with an excited look on his face.

He looks like a mad man, totally insane.

The cage suddenly starts to hum and vibrate.

»What's going on?!«, I ask in panic.

»Sweetie, look at me!«

My eyes shoot up to Sylus.

»Don't panic. Everything will be okay. I promise.«

He's not calm, but he tries to calm me.

To comfort me.

My body starts to shake, but it's not just my nerves and emotions.

I feel a power inside of me, pulling at me, trying to burst out of me.

Something dangerous is happening with me...
