"BELOVED BY THE TWINS"
by: Dark Flame MasterAfter their intense and emotional encounter on the rooftop Ruka and Luka decided it was best to take Shin home with them. The night had fallen and the streets were quiet as they left the hospital. The twins and Shin left the hospital and are now headed towards their house.
As they arrived, Shin was struck by the sight of the large two-story house. It seemed so spacious and inviting. The house was neatly kept with warm lights glowing from inside giving it a cozy and welcoming feel. It also has a garden which is kept nicely.
“This place is amazing,” Shin said, his eyes wide with wonder. “Is this where you live with your parents?”
Ruka chuckled lightly. “No, it’s just the two of us,” he said, glancing at Luca with a smile and something that Shin couldn't really explain. “We moved here for college and we decided to stay here. It’s more convenient for us.”
Luca nodded in agreement. “It’s nice to have our own space,” he added.
Ruka then turned to Shin, his expression was serious but kind. “From now on, you’ll be living with us,” he said.
“This is our room,” he gestured to a door near the entrance of the hallway, “and your room is down that way,” he pointed toward another door at the back of the hall.
“We’re pretty tired from the day,” Ruka said, stifling a yawn. “So we’re going to head to bed. If you want to eat or take a shower, feel free. Goodnight!”
Luca nodded in agreement. “Goodnight,” he said softly.
With that, the twins went to their room leaving Shin alone in the hallway. Shin stood there for a moment feeling a bit lost. The house was beautiful and the offer to stay was incredibly generous but it felt strange and unreal.
Eventually, Shin made his way to the room that was now his. It was a simple yet comfortable space. The bed was neatly made and there was a small desk by the window. Shin sat down on the bed and tried to make sense of everything that had happened.
As he lay down, he was overwhelmed by a flood of emotions. The events of the day, the rooftop incident, and the kindness of Ruka and Luca all seemed too much to handle. Tears began to roll down his cheeks as he thought about how close he had come to ending his life. He felt a deep sadness and regret and his emotions took over.
He thought about his mother who was struggling with her own health issues and the mounting hospital bills that he couldn’t pay. He felt a heavy burden of guilt. How could he think of abandoning her when she needed him the most? He cried quietly, feeling the weight of his sorrow and confusion. The tears seemed endless, each one a reminder of how alone he had felt and how difficult his life had been.
As he lay there crying, he replayed the painful moments from the past weeks in his mind. The relentless bullying at school, the harsh words from classmates who never seemed to understand, and the feeling of being invisible. These memories only deepened his sadness. He wished he could escape from the pain but now in this new unfamiliar place he felt a small flicker of hope mixed with his grief.
Hours passed and eventually exhaustion overcame him. Shin fell into a troubled sleep, his tears still wet on the pillow. The house was quiet except for the sounds of the night outside and Shin’s thoughts finally began to quiet down as he drifted off.
The next morning, Shin woke up feeling disoriented. For a moment, he forgot where he was but then he remembered the events from the previous night. He felt a bit embarrassed and shy but as his stomach growled with hunger he decided to get up and see what was happening.
He walked down the hallway and made his way to the kitchen. There, he found Ruka and Luca. Ruka was hugging Luca from behind while Luca was busy cooking. The sight was both surprising and a bit awkward for Shin.
“Hey, is it cooked already?” Ruka asked, his voice cheerful and a bit muffled as he nuzzled closer to Luca’s back.
Luca glanced over his shoulder slightly amused. “It’s almost done. Just wait at the table.”
Shin stood there, feeling a bit unsure of how to react. He wasn’t used to this kind of casual interaction and felt a bit out of place. Ruka’s playful behavior and Luca’s calm demeanor contrasted sharply with Shin’s own feelings of unease.
Then Ruka noticed Shin. “Hey! Good morning!” he said, his smile brightening as he let go of Luca and approached Shin. “Sorry, I didn’t see you there.”
“Good morning,” Luca added turning his attention to Shin as he finished preparing the food.
Shin took a seat at the table trying to figure out where to look. Ruka who had been hugging Luca sat down on Luca’s lap making the situation even more awkward for Shin. He wasn’t sure how to handle this display of affection and felt a bit uncomfortable.
As they began eating, Shin felt out of place. He wanted to show his appreciation but his discomfort was slightly noticeable.
“Um… I’m really sorry about yesterday,” Shin said, breaking the silence. He wanted to express his gratitude and apologize for the trouble he had caused.
“Don’t worry about it,” Ruka said with a reassuring smile. He then suddenly asked, “What was your name again?”
Hearing that made Shin chuckled softly. “Shin. My name is Shin. I’m a fourth-year high school student.”
Ruka looked surprised. “High school? H..how old are you? Wait... don’t you have to go to school today?”
“I’m 17,” Shin replied, feeling a bit embarrassed. “But it’s already late, so it’s okay. They would just bully me there anyway.”
Ruka and Luca exchanged glances both noticing the sadness in Shin’s voice.
“What should we do? We just asked a minor to be our boyfriend?” Ruka said, half-jokingly but with a hint of concern.
“It’s okay,” Shin said quietly. “I know that I.... agree to it but It’s not like I have feelings for both of you. I just appreciate your kindness.”
“Well, from today until you turn 18, you’re going to be our friend,” Ruka said firmly. “We’ll look out for you.”
Shin didn’t immediately respond feeling a mix of relief and uncertainty.
“Do you want to visit your mom?” Luca asked gently.
“Yes, I want to apologize to her,” Shin said, his voice filled with regret.
“Then you should come with us,” Luca offered. “We’re interns at the hospital. We’re in our final year of college, and we’re 22.”
Shin looked at both of them feeling a mix of gratitude and awe. “O..okay, thanks, Ruka,” he said, glancing at Ruka, who was still sitting on Luca’s lap. “Thanks, Luca.”
“Wow, he really can tell us apart,” Ruka said, sounding impressed.
The three of them continued eating and despite the awkwardness, Shin felt a tiny spark of hope. For the first time in a while he felt like he might be starting to find a place where he belonged.
A/N: I don't really know anything about internship 🤣😂. Kindly comment your thoughts on this chapter 😚. Also vote for this story🙂↕️🙂↕️
