"BELOVED BY THE TWINS"
by:Dark Flame MasterSHIN'S POV:
Is Luca…? I really don’t know what to do anymore. Everything feels so different now. The sudden change in how they act around me is overwhelming. I stood up quickly after feeling something poke me. I could feel my face blushing so I ran to my room. Aren’t they being too much? How many days are left until my birthday? What if my mom doesn’t approve of this? I do like them, I admit it but I’m not ready for that kind of relationship. How am I supposed to handle this? Aghhhhhhh, calm down, Shin. Just breathe.
I decided to take a bath to distract myself. The warm water was soothing and I hoped it would wash away my worries. I really didn’t want these special moments to turn sour. I didn’t want to go back to the old me, the one who was always anxious and afraid. As I relaxed in the tub, my mind wandered back to the twins. “Aren’t they too big?” I mumbled, surprised by my own thoughts. Big? What am I even saying? Shin, you’re embarrassing yourself! I thought, lightly hitting my head with my hands. Even though the water was cool, I could feel myself heating up.
After I finished my bath, I stepped out and dried off feeling slightly refreshed. I walked into the living room and saw both twins sitting at the table focused on their work. It felt awkward seeing them like that so I considered going back into my room. But just as I turned, Ruka spotted me.
“Are you going to sleep?” Ruka asked, looking up from his papers.
“No, I’m not tired yet. What are you two doing?” I replied, trying to sound casual.
“We’re just working on our internship reports,” Ruka said, his voice full of concentration.
I moved closer and sat on the sofa while they continued to write on the small glass table. For some reason, I noticed them wearing glasses for the first time. “Wow, glasses really make someone look more handsome, huh?” I mumbled to myself, not realizing they could hear me.
“Really?” Luca’s voice broke through my thoughts.
“Huh? What?” I said, startled.
“You just said you like us in glasses,” Luca pointed out, a playful smile on his face.
“Yeah, you both look good in them,” I admitted, suddenly feeling shy as I watched them blush slightly.
As I dried my hair with a towel, I continued to watch them write. Curiosity got the better of me, and I asked, “Are you going to work at that hospital after the internship?”
“Yeah, we are,” both of them replied in unison, still focused on their reports.
“Then we won’t have enough time to be together when you start working and I’m in college,” I said without thinking, realizing too late that I was saying something that sounded a lot like I would miss them.
Both of them suddenly stopped writing. They closed their laptops and stood up, walking over to me on the sofa. “What’s wrong?” I asked, feeling a bit anxious.
In an instant, they hugged me from both sides. “You miss us already?” they teased in unison.
“I didn’t say that!” I protested, feeling my heart race.
“But isn’t that the same thing?” Ruka insisted, his voice lighthearted and teasing.
“How is that—” I started to argue but before I could finish, Luca covered my mouth with his hand.
“Just admit it,” he said, grinning.
I felt defeated. I nodded, knowing they wouldn’t stop until I gave them what they wanted.
