Silence sat in the kitchen. The only sounds being the crackling of the small fire in the fireplace and the breathing of Edmund and Y/N.

She watched as Edmund's face dropped after Piper had left the room. To her, he looked as though his thoughts were weighing him down.

"Edmund? Are you alright?" She asks, tilting her head a little.
He looks at her and gives her a small smile with a nod, saying "yes, I'm quite alright. We just have quite a situation on our hands that's all." He then shrugs.

Y/N can't help but feel as though he is lying about how he is feeling but she pushes it aside for now, it wouldn't help to press him on things at the moment, she could see that in his eyes.

Y/N though is still not entirely sure who this "Jadis" is so they decide to ask while they have the chance.

"If you say so but, who is this Jadis that Piper mentioned? I don't remember you speaking of her much if at all when you told me your stories of Narnia."

Edmund's brow furrows and he looks down. There is some silence before he shrugs and rubs the back of his neck, saying "It's...a long story; but the witch i referred to when i told you about what happened in mine and my siblings first adventure in Narnia is her, they are the same person."

Y/N then nods, finally getting some questions answered, to her relief.

She wasn't going to press him for now but.
She needed to know.
Y/N thinks it over and decides to ask...

"Did, she do something to you?"

This question takes Edmund completely off guard. His face turns to one of slight suprise as he looks at Y/N, why did she ask such a thing?

The silence was almost defening as he looked down again and tried to think of an answer. He didn't want to lie to her but, he didn't want her worrying about him all the time.

He takes a breath and looks up at Y/N, putting his smile back on.

"No, she just caused a lot of harm to Narnia is all, and many Narnians lives were lost because of her. She is a cruel woman. That's why we need to stop her."

She looks into Edmund's eyes for a moment, was he lying?

"We should go, i want to go and check Caspian's room, see if there is anything that will indicate where he was taken. I also need a new sword it seems so, i will have to go find one."

Y/N looks at Edmund with a slightly sad expression, feeling like there is something big he is not telling her.
She doesn't want to worry him though so she nods and the both of them begin to walk towards the arched entrance and back out into the corridor.....

-----------------------------

"I hope you are ready, this reunion shall be delightful. I personally cannot wait."
She spoke to him with a tone that made him grunt in disgust.
Which earned him a slap.
He didn't care though, knowing things will not end in her favour.
He wouldn't allow it.
Then he is suddenly blindfolded, darkness consuming him as he feels himself being forced outside into the air.
His ribs hurt as he breathed but he was just happy that he was breathing fresh air.
He is then forced to walk.
One foot Infront of the other, he mentally prepared himself for what's to come...

-----------------------------

"Could, i have a sword as well?" Y/N asks as she walks beside Edmund down the corridor towards the bed chambers.
Edmund shrugs and says "i don't see why not. In fact it would be for the best. Do you know how to use a sword though?"

She thinks for a moment but then says "Not really no but, you could teach me couldn't you?"
This gets a smile out of Edmund.
"Sure. I can teach you if you wish." Is all he says.

They then reach the corridor of the bed chambers. The wall torches all put out which has made the corridor rather dark.
"Which room is Caspian's?" Y/N asks, looking at all of the doors.
Edmund looks across the corridor at all of the doors, 3 on the left and 2 on the right.
He then notices one of them on the right is slightly open.

"I'm not entirely sure but that door is slightly ajar, let's check there." He suggests. Y/N nods as they both approach the door, Edmund going first.
He grabs the handle and pushes the door open. The door itself creaking a little bit as he opens it fully, the moonlight shining through the windows in the room and the curtains lightly dancing against the gentle wind from outside.

Caspian's room was a complete mess. His bed covers were hanging off of the bed and scrunched up all over the place. Pages that sat on his desk before had been scattered and stamped on all over the floor.

That's when Edmund noticed that some of those pages that were knocked to the ground had blood on them.

And that's when he followed them to a small dried puddle in the middle of the room...

"What?" Edmund says under his breath, his eyes widening. Y/N looks over to him and walks over, saying "what is it?"

Edmund kneels down on one knee as he picks up what he found and looks at it closer. It sat in the palm of his hand, the edges sharp.

He swallowed.

"This is, the blade end of the stone knife."

There it was, sitting in his hand. Well, one half of it.
That raised a question in Edmund's mind though, why was it in two pieces? Or more? And where are the other pieces?

Y/N is looking at it with slight confusion.
"The stone knife?"

Edmund glances up at her then stands, looking down at the blade end in his hand.
"The stone knife is what Jadis used for..."

"For?" Y/N says as Edmund fell into a sort of silence.

"For ending someone's life, on the stone table." He said in a serious tone, bad memories flooding back to him.

"Oh, i remember you mentioning that she killed Aslan before the battle yes? She did it with that i assume?"

Edmund nods.

"But then he came back to life right? How?" Y/N asks.

Edmund's eyes wonder, looking at the floor and then back to the blade in his hand.

"He was innocent. The rule of the stone table is that if an innocent life is ended on it, the table cracks and whoever was killed returns back to life."

Her expression changes to one of deep thought as she thinks about what Edmund said.
She then stops, confused about something.

"Hold on though, why or how would she do that? From what you told me there was no way she could get to him without him going himself right?"

That makes Edmund tense up.
Y/N notices this.

"He took someone's place. To save their life. They agreed on it, Aslan and her." He says in a sombre voice.

She is now looking at Edmund with a slightly sad expression, noticing his whole demeanor had changed rather quickly in these last few minutes.

"Who was it? Who did he save?" She asks.

Edmund opens his mouth to speak but before he can make out the words...

"Sire! Y/N!"

"Piper?" Y/N says, turning and looking down at him.

He stops just through the doorway, panting.
Edmund looks over as well, turning his gaze to him.

"What is it Piper? Did something happen?" Edmund asks.

Piper swallows.

"I saw Caspian coming towards the castle! He's okay!"

Both Edmund and Y/N look at eachother in suprise for a moment before Edmund quickly scans the room and stands, finding Caspian's old sword in the corner of the room. He grabs it and says "lead on Piper, come on Y/N let's go!"
