"How long have we been walking? I can't see a thing!" Y/N says as her grip on Edmund's shoulder tightens a little.
"I'm not sure but...do you feel that breeze?" He says, stopping in his tracks which makes Y/N stop suddenly.A small breeze dances around their ankles and gently hits their faces, it's temperature warm like a summers breeze.
"I do yes..." Y/N replies, looking over her own shoulder at the tunnel entrance. Unsurprisingly, it is still raining but then another question springs to her mind."Wait...how is this breeze warm? Surely it should be cold like it was outside in the rain..."
Edmund's brow furrows as he thinks.
Why is this breeze warm?He then looks forward and continues walking, to the suprise of Y/N who almost lost her grip on his shoulder as he started to move again.
They walk and walk, Y/N wondering if this darkness would ever end until...
Light.
"Light? How strange..." Edmund says, his eyes narrowing a little as they are adjusting to the sudden change in brightness.
Y/N finds herself doing the same, then both of them continue further until the darkness lets go of them and they step into the light, having to shut their eyes for a brief moment.
When they open them, to both their suprise they find they are in a forest, the sun glistening above them and the trees bright and lively.Edmund stops in his tracks as Y/N walks a little forward, looking at the sudden change in scenery around them.
"What?..." Edmund says quietly under his breath.
Y/N then turns to Edmund, noticing he is having a rather different reaction to hers.
"What is it? Do you know where this is?" Y/N asks, looking away from him to look at the trees above, the sunlight shining between the leaves.Edmund looks back at the darkness, then back to the forest, bewildered and slightly confused.
"Edmund? Are you okay?" Y/N asks, walking up to him.
He looks at her then around again, taking a breath and saying "yes fine it's just...""Just what?" Y/N says, tilting her head a little at Edmund's change in demeanour.
"This....i think this is Narnia..." Edmund says with a bewildered tone.
Y/N looks at him with confusion now.
"Narnia?...Edmund now is not the time for your stories...""No, I'm not lying to you...this is Narnia, it has to be." He says in a slightly defensive tone, giving her the impression that he isn't lying.
"Truly?" Y/N says, looking around at the seemingly endless forest before her.
Edmund nods, taking a few steps forward as he looks out into the distance.
"Truly...but, how?" He replies, making Y/N look at him with a questioning expression.
"How? What do you mean? We walked through the darkness and found ourselves here..." She says, the confusion coming back again."No not that, i mean how in regards to what happened last time i was here..." Edmund explains, his gaze not leaving the forest before him.
"Why, what happened?" Y/N asks, a little curious now.Edmund looks down and then says "When i was last here, me and Lucy were told that it was our last time in Narnia. We had learned all we could, just like Pete and Susan before us.....i suppose now that ending has changed it seems...but why?"
"Maybe...someone wanted you back here?" Y/N suggests.Edmund thinks it over but no one comes to mind.
"I'm not sure." He says, silence then filling the space for a few moments."Suppose theres only one thing we can do..." He says, breaking the temporary silence.
"What's that?" Y/N replies.
Then a smile grows on his face as he begins to walk, saying "go and have a look around of course, i know part of you still doesn't believe me so...let me prove that this is Narnia."She chuckles a little and shakes her head as she begins to walk with him, saying "alright well, where should we go first?"
Edmund looks around as he thinks. Then he says "a castle. Caspian mentioned he, with the help of Aslan, did something while we were away on the Dawn Treader...i would like to see if he truly did."
Y/N, not knowing what on earth Edmund was talking about just shrugs and continues on, asking him questions as they go....Hello, hope you enjoyed this chapter :)
They will probably get longer as they go on as I'm trying to figure out a general idea on how big a chapter should reasonably be. I am planning on this being a full story so whoever is reading this and enjoying it, first of all thank you very much indeed, and secondly, expect a lot of chapters to come :)
