The sounds of running echo through Cair as Edmund and Y/N run, with Piper leading.
They swiftly run down a set of stairs and dash around corners until they stop, seeing a group of Narnians crowding around the Western gate.

"Move aside please! King Edmund is here!" Piper shouts, the Narnians at the back of the crowd looking over their shoulders and getting those Infront of them to move aside. The crowd's mumbling goes silent as, like a domino effect, they all make a gap in which Edmund, Y/N and Piper can all go through.

Reaching the doorway, they look out to the forest, seeing Caspian emerge, but his wrists are tied together Infront of him.

He looked awful.

This reunion then turns rather bittersweet.
Very quickly.

Edmund's gaze quickly moves to a tall figure that moves next to Caspian, grabbing his shoulder as they shove him forward, making him stumble.
Then the figure comes out of the tree's shadow and Edmund's breath catches.

"Is that, her?" Y/N whispers to Edmund.

His gaze doesn't leave her. He watches her every move as she and Caspian move closer.

She does the same.
Neither of them blinked.

"Yes. It is." Edmund says in a low tone.

She stops only a few meters away, holding Caspian's shoulder tightly as she gives Edmund a smile.

He shudders, his grip tightening around the sword he had grabbed from Caspian's room.

"Well, isn't this a most delightful suprise." She says, that smile still plastered on her face.

She takes a step forward, leaving Caspian standing behind her.

"Oh i have missed you Edmund. How have you been?" She says as a smirk grows on her face.

Edmund takes a step forward, down the steps a little with the sword in his hands at a ready position.
"What are you doing here?" He says, his tone serious.

A laugh leaves her lips as she watches Edmund. She knows he is scared.

"I have come to return your friend here." She says, grabbing Caspian and pulling him forward.

Edmund looks at Caspian.
He looked so awful.

Bruises black and purple dotted his face. Dried blood from a cut on his lip and presumably a nose bleed.

Edmund almost saw himself there, when he first came to Narnia, in Caspian's place.

Caspian looked at him, using what he had to give Edmund a reassuring smile.

"Why? Rare for you to spare a life." Edmund says, looking back to Jadis.
This gets another laugh out of her as she moves her hands to her hips, saying "Oh Edmund you know me so well."

Hearing this makes Edmund shudder a little.

"I was feeling generous that's all." She says, shrugging.

Edmund knows there is a catch to this.
He knows her.

"There's more to this, what is it you want?" Edmund says.

Her smile grows once again as she says "Nothing."

This catches Edmund off guard, his face very quickly shifting to one of confusion.

"Nothing?" Edmund says, slightly surprised but cautious still.

Jadis nods, shoving Caspian forward. Edmund quickly runs down and grabs him before he falls.
That's when he realises that since he did indeed catch Caspian, he is only a few steps Infront of her.
He moves Caspian behind him and points his sword at her, his eyebrows furrowed and expression serious.
