Edmund flinches, feeling the cold surrounding him as his senses, all but sight, began to manifest.Lying on his side, he slowly opened his eyes.
When he did though, he kind of wished he hadn't."Ah there you are. I was wondering if you would ever open your eyes."
He lets his eyes wonder around the room, knowing full well where he was...
The cold, dark dungeon of her castle.
That's when his eyes locked onto the owner of the voice which spoke to him, a voice all to familiar.
Jadis smiles, tilting her head as she looks at him.
Nothing in her smile was friendly.Edmund tries to move but stops when he hears the sounds of metal hitting ice.
He looks down at his ankle, seeing the very same shackle and chain he was wearing all that time ago.
This is when his fear begins to kick in.Noticing this, she puts her hands on her hips and lets out a little, quiet laugh.
"Scared are we?" She says before pausing, kneeling down Infront of him.
He looks up at her, trying to not show his fear.
She then suddenly grabs his hair, yanking it forward which brings his face closer.
"Good." Is all she says, in that serious, cold tone that pierced right through Edmund.
She then lets go, making Edmund fall back to his side.
Standing up, she walks over to an ice carved table, a small item sitting on top of it.
Edmund slowly sits himself up as she does this, leaning against the wall behind him.
It was freezing cold but that was the least of his problems right now.Jadis grabs the item that sat upon the table, tracing her fingers across it as she turns back around to face Edmund.
His eyes instantly go to the item she held, looking at it with slight suprise.
"The, stone knife?" He says quietly."One piece of it yes." She says.
Edmund looked at it again.
It indeed was a piece of the stone knife. The handle to be exact. Sharp shards of the blade end stuck out from the handle.
Someone had clearly cracked the blade end off, why and when Edmund had no idea."It seems my stone knife has been broken into 3 pieces. The handle, the blade and the carved stone that had it's place on the end of the handle." She explains.
She then walks over to Edmund again, his eyes following her every move.
She stops Infront of him and moves her hand to her hip.
"With that knowledge, i ask a simple question.""Where are the remaining pieces Edmund?"
Edmund barely blinks as he tries to think of an answer.
He can't tell her he has the blade.
He mustn't."Well?" She says, breaking Edmund's thought process.
"I, i don't know. I wasn't aware the knife was in pieces." He says.
Her expression begins to shift, to one of annoyance."Do not lie to me Edmund." She says, her tone serious.
"I'm not lying!"
Jadis looks at him, scanning his face with her stare.
