Being on the Centaur's back, they return to Cair much quicker than they would have on foot.
As they reach the Western gate, Edmund and Caspian dismount, thanking the Centaur.
"Go and rest my friend, you deserve it." Caspian says to the Centaur.
The Centaur bows and leaves, Edmund and Caspian standing before the Western door into Cair.
"That was much too close." Caspian says, wincing as he moved his injured arm a little too quickly.Noticing this, Edmund looks at him.
"You need to get that cleaned and wrapped."
Caspian just nods in response.
The both of them begin to walk into Cair and when they do enter, they are met with Piper.
"Your majesties! What happened!?" Piper says, worried for them.
"Where's Y/N?..." He adds, but in a more somber tone, noticing she is not with them.
"We were too late. She's gone." Edmund says in an emotionless tone.
"Gone? where sire?" Piper asks, looking up at Edmund.
"To, Jadis's castle."
Piper's eyes widen.
That's when Edmund begins to walk away, wanting some alone time.
"Your majesty wait! Why did she-?"
"Because she fell for what i fell for all those years ago. Jadis's honeyed words are nothing but lies and like me, Y/N was tricked. She has no idea what danger she's put herself in." Edmund quickly says, interrupting Piper.
Turning, Edmund then walks away towards the corridor where his bed chambers were.
Caspian and Piper watch Edmund walk away, the both of them can't help but feel worried for him.
All of this is certainly similar to what happened when he and his siblings came to Narnia for the first time.
Caspian knew the story...well, most of it.Edmund still hides the finer details.
"Let's leave him for now, he needs some time alone." Caspian says, looking down at Piper.
"We should get your arm tended to your majesty." Piper says, giving him a small smile.
Looking down at his arm, he nods in response, the both of them beginning to walk away.
Caspian had some serious planning to do. Not just for Y/N's sake but, the whole of Narnia itself....
--Edmund's room--
Closing the door he leans against it, running one hand through his dark hair as he sighs.
"Y/N, what have you done...?" He says under his breath, the question fading into the silence of his room.
He walks over to his bed and removes the scabbard with his sword comfortably inside it from his belt, lying it against the bed frame.
With another sigh he then sits down, looking at the wooden floor beneath his feet.
He stays there for quite a while, just thinking everything over.
It was his fault.
He should have done more, should have made sure.
Now she's going to experience exactly what he went through.
And that, was on him.He couldn't let that happen.
He couldn't..."You needn't blame yourself Edmund."
Edmund quickly looks up suddenly.
