He, as quickly as he could manage, gets to his feet.
Slowly looking around, his confusion was overwhelming.

There was not a snowflake in sight. No layers of snow coated the ground.

The ground beneath him was dry, roots long since surfaced arched in and out of the ground around the trees.

A faint mist lingered across the floor and in the distance from all sides.
He was deep in the forest, that much he knew.

Taking one step forward, he looks around again.

The only sound he could hear was his own breath.

But, that quickly became background noise as he heard Jadis's voice again.

"Edmund..."

Quickly turning in the direction he heard it, he didn't bother to try and hide his fear, she knew full well he was scared.

"Edmund..."

He shakes his head, turning to the direction he heard the voice again.

He soon could hear her voice from all sides, distant and close.

Then, shaking his head, he began to run.

He ran and ran, not knowing where he was going.

Then, his foot got caught under a root and he falls forward, making him cough as he hits the ground front first.

He can hear her laughing now, her voice piercing his mind.

Covering his ears he curls up on the ground, his eyes shut tightly.

He just wanted it to stop.

....
.......

Then, the cold.

It hit him rather suddenly.

Opening his eyes, he finds himself in the snow.

Was it a dream? Did he get knocked out after being dragged?

He didn't know..

...

"Edmund?"

A familiar voice.

It was Caspian.

He was with 4 others who had come to look for Edmund after a guard saw him running into the woods moments ago.

Kneeling down beside him, Caspian helps him up.

"Are you hurt? What happened?"

Edmund winces as he stands, his body sore from being pulled across the ground.

After hesitating to answer for a moment, he shakes his head a little.

"She. She is much more powerful than before, apparently..." Edmund says between breaths.

"What do you mean?" Caspian asks, looking at him.

"She, she summoned a root from the ground, made of pure ice.."

Caspian's eyes widen a little, glancing at the 4 others who came with him before looking at Edmund again.

"...we should get back to Cair, you can explain everything when we are all safe."

They all then turn and begin to leave the woods as quickly as they could.

For all they knew, she could be anywhere near them...

Watching as they walk away, her gaze stuck on one.
She was so very close.
But, she knew that this wasn't the time, as much as she wanted it to be.
She had her plans though, for she knew what they were planning.
A battle, at her Palace of ice.
To kill her.
She chuckled at the thought.
