The library was cold as the old door opened, Edmund and Y/N walking in.
The room itself was large and imposing. Bookshelves lined every wall and corner, reaching high above and almost to the grand arched ceiling.
One fireplace sat against the south wall, the remnants of a fire once lit inside it. The windows reached high up the wall as the late afternoon sun shone through them, lighting the room to an average amount.
Edmund walks over to a large table in the middle of the room as Y/N looks up and around, amazed by the room.
He looks at the papers and books that lay scattered across it, not finding anything of note.
"Feel free to look around, there is all sorts of books in here. Most are about Narnian history but there's a few on other topics." He explains, turning to Y/N and giving her a smile.
She nods and begins to look around the shelves, scanning each book as she walks along.
She walks and walks, not finding anything of interest to her until...
"Hmm...whats this?" She says, almost to herself.
While she is pulling the book out, Edmund had already found something of interest to him and he had opened it up, walking over to Y/N as he reads a few lines.
"Did you find something?" He asks, looking up from the book he was reading.
"Yeah. I don't know why but, it looked interesting." She says, Edmund walking over and looking over at it.
"Oh. That book." He says with some hesitation, shutting the book he was reading and placing it on a small table behind himself.
"You've read this?" She asks, looking at the cover.
Edmund nods.
"I have. I think I've read almost every book in this library." He says, letting out a small and quiet laugh.
Y/N then looks at him and says "what is it about?"
Edmund hesitates.
He then points to a word on the cover that was in the title of the book.
She then looks down to where he is pointing.
"Charn?" She says, reading what he was pointing at.
He nods.
"Yes. It's a book about it's history, and it's demise."
She then looks back at Edmund.
"It's demise? What happened to it?" She asks.
He thinks for a moment before leaning against a nearby table.
"The book says a word was spoken. Just one. It killed everything and everyone in the city, in that world." He explains.
Y/N's eyes widen.
"Just a word? Who spoke it?"
Edmund looks down at the ground for a moment, crossing his arms.
He then looks up at her.
"Jadis. Jadis did......Charn, is where she is from." He says.
Y/N certainly wasn't expecting that answer. It doesn't entirely shock her though, Jadis seems like the sort to do such a thing from what she understood of her.
She then decides to open the book, flicking through the pages as Edmund watched.
She flicks through page after page, skimming the contents inside until she stops on a certain page, Edmund noticing her stop and from what he could see, she was seemingly intrigued by something.
