"...Please say something," MK whimpered, twiddling his thumbs together nervously, waiting for Xiaotian to lift his head from where it was buried in his hands.
"I don't know what to say," Xiaotian admits in a weak tone. He slowly raised his head, letting his fingers trail down his cheeks, pulling the skin with a heavy sigh. Finding his peace, or at least, enough of it, he asked, "How much did it make you aware?"
MK glanced around, as if it physically pained him to look Xiaotian in the eye, "I mean, I was aware before that particular moment, but it was really strong when Red Son handed you that drink."
"Gods-" Xiaotian mourned, so embarrassed he wanted to toss himself into the barrels that were being carted to their left. This bond thing was once again proving that there was such a thing as sharing TOO MUCH. "I'm sorry," he ducked his head again, ears flushed in humiliation.
MK looked at him, a soft, sympathetic expression on his face. He reached out hesitantly, placing a hand on Xiaotian's arm. "It's okay, you know," he said gently, "I'm not judging or anything. It's just... oddly intimate." he paused to quickly add, "Which I support!" he touched his hand to his chest, assuring Xiaotian of that. "Just um... k-kind of awkward on my part. Not my cup of tea, if you know what I mean?" he cringed, not sure how else to explain it to Xiaotian.
"Right, right," Xiaotian nodded, horrified MK had to even feel that to begin with. Not that he could really help it but geez. "And with a guy- sorry I-'
"It's not that he's a guy," MK shakes his head, drawing Xiaotian's curious eye. "I mean, even if he was a girl I wouldn't really-" MK inhaled with an nervous hiss, "I don't really think I'm into relationships? Or like- kissing? I mean, no no, kissing is fine. Like, on the cheek or head-" he weighed his hands back and forth, not even fully sure himself. Though, he felt he had a strong grasp of the concept after this recent experience. "But not that kind of kissing, you know-??"
"Oh, I see," Xiaotian said, feeling a little more at ease. He spared a moment to acknowledge the clarity in MK's voice when he said those words, the firmness that suggested he had been mulling over this for awhile now. "Well, I'm sorry you had to experience my... emotions. It must've been uncomfortable for you."
"Uncomfortable isn't exactly the word I'd use," MK admitted with a small smile and a shrug of his shoulders. "It's just, um... different." He glanced at Xiaotian, meeting his gaze head on this time. "I think it's good though - good that I got a glimpse of it. Kind of answered some questions for me." he smiled at his feet. "So, thank you."
There was a moment of silence, Xiaotian grasping MK's shoulder suddenly. "I support you too." he said.
MK snorted and laughed, but the comment meant the world to him as the two hugged it out. Must have been an odd sight to their best friends, who were sitting on the bench not too far away waiting for them. MK needed a moment to speak to Xiaotian alone, which they allowed, but it certainly was strange.
First they could see MK panicking, then Xiaotian looking like he was told some terrible news, then some awkward shifting, and now some hugging?
"They're strange right?" Red Son chimed to Mei, "It's not just me?"
"They're strange," Mei agreed full heartedly. She cupped her hands around her mouth, "You two ready to go or what??"
The two pulled back at the sound of Mei's call, rushing back with renewed energy. "Ready!" MK grinned to Mei, eager to follow where ever she was leading them.
Red Son gave Xiaotian a puzzled glance as he approached, clearly wondering what had transpired between the two. "You alright?" he asked Xiaotian in a low voice, a hint of amusement threading his words.
