The boutique was a haven of elegance and creativity, and its office walls were adorned with fabric swatches and sketches that spoke of Lola's impeccable taste.
Soft music filled the air, mingling with the subtle fragrance of fresh flowers. I stepped inside, greeted by the warm ambiance and the familiar presence of my friends.
Lola, with her light green eyes sparkling with enthusiasm, was making the final adjustments to the bridesmaids dresses. The gowns looked like masterpieces, shimmering under the boutique's soft lighting.
"Azalea!" Lola's voice was a burst of excitement when she saw me, "I'm so glad you're here. I can't wait for you to see how the dresses turned out."
Her enthusiasm was infectious, and I tried to match her excitement despite the weight of my worries.
"I'm excited too, although I know it's going to be perfect." I said with a smile when she grinned.
The boutique was filled with the lively chatter of my friends, their conversation a mix of excitement and curiosity. Reina was flipping through a stack of fashion magazines when she looked up at me and waved.
"So, tell me more about our trip," She said, her voice bubbling with excitement, "Are we planning anything special?"
Nikki, who was seated next to her, looked up from the magazine she had been flipping through. Her eyes were soft, but there was a hint of enthusiasm in her voice as she leaned forward.
"Yes, I've heard you're all planning a big adventure. What are your must-see spots?" She asked when I shrugged.
"We'll have to choose together, obviously, although I know a few good places." I suggested and they all nodded.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing the Eiffel Tower and exploring the local cafes. I've heard French pastries are out of this world." Sam chimed in when I nodded since none of the girls other than Reina had been to France before.
"I've been researching all the best places to eat," Reina said, her eyes twinkling, "And of course, we'll need to check out some of the shops. Parisian fashion is top-notch!"
Their excitement was a sharp contrast to the heaviness I felt inside. I forced a smile, trying to keep my tone light.
"I'm really looking forward to it too. It'll be nice to have a break from everything." I agreed but Lola, always so perceptive, tilted her head and gave me a critical look.
"You're not looking too excited. Is something bothering you?" She asked with narrowed eyes when I took a deep breath, trying to mask my anxiety.
"It's just been a busy week with dance practice and everything. I'm sure I'll be more excited once we're actually there." I said with a slightly nervous laugh and saw her slow nod.
