I had been staring at my sleeping girl for hours now, running my hands over her soft skin or through her hair, kissing her face every now and then and holding her close to me for as long as I could because I knew we wouldn't be seeing each other for a week.

As my eyes fell onto her ring finger and noticed how empty it looked without the ring I gave her, my fingers traced the vacant area absent minded when she mumbled something incoherent and snuggled deeper into my chest, making me smile in the slightest as I pecked the top of her head

A certain thought had been going around in my head for quite a while but I hadn't entertained it with how absurd it would sound but as I stared at the beauty sleeping in my arms, it seemed perfectly normal.

With that thought, I made up my mind and carefully got out of bed, putting my pillow in my place before going to the bathroom to freshen up.

Coming out, I picked up my phone and noticed it was six a.m. before heading out on the balcony and calling Tommy.

He picked up after a few rings, his voice groggy and filled with sleep.

"Arlo? Why the fuck are you calling so goddamn early? Just because you're a vampire doesn't mean that we all are too." He grumbled when I huffed.

"I need you to make some arrangements, as soon as possible." I ignored his rant and before there was a slight pause.

"For what?"

I took a deep breath, proceeding to tell him everything about my plan and when I was done, I could practically hear the deafening silence on his end.

"Harlan, are you alright?" He asked slowly when I frowned.

I knew the idea was absurd, but not that much. It seemed pretty good now.

"Are you insane? She's going to freak out!" He exclaimed when I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"I'll handle it."

"Handle what, Arlo? This is going to be too much!" He said in a concerned tone as I glared at the floor.

"You know France isn't safe, not for her."

"You mean for you?" He asked and I was silent for a split second before my jaw clenched.

"For her, Thomas, and you know it. She needs to be—"

"Alright, fine! I'll do what I can but please, for the love of god, take it easy with her." He said but I didn't say anything in response as I hung up and lit up a cigarette, taking a deep breath before letting out the smoke as I relaxed a little.
