"I lost myself in his warmth and the darkness he wrapped around me."

"You look beautiful." Lola squeezed my shoulders from behind while I looked into the mirror with a small smile, my eyes running over the amazing dress she had designed for me.

"This is—" I took a deep breath, getting emotional, "This is amazing, Lo. Thank you." I turned around and hugged her tightly before pulling away when she chuckled and I looked back at myself with a soft sigh.

My eyes burned when I realised my mother wasn't here to support me, to celebrate my wedding, to dance with me and brag to all her friends about me and show them my pictures.

I realised she would never be there again, that she'd never get to see my children and shower them with all her unconditional love and spoil them, she would never see me walk down the aisle or bow on a massive stage when I make it big.

And worst of all, she'd never be waiting for me at home with my favourite dishes cooked by her.

I felt a tear drop from my eyes and saw Lola's eyes soften from behind me as she gestured to our friends at the back who immediately sat up straighter.

"I can't believe she's not here." I whispered and covered my face with my hands, settling down as I sobbed and felt various arms come around me.

"I know it's hard, Lea," I heard Sam's voice, "And I know you're hurting, which is okay. It's okay to cry and it's alright to be scared."

"I want you to remember that we'll be right beside you through every thing. No matter what happens, you have your best friends and sisters with you to support you in every challenge of life." Nikki told me.

"And always remember that you don't just have us, but you also have your aunt, your uncle and Jamie. You have all of us, Azzy, and I know we can't possibly fill your parents' shoes, but we'll certainly try." Reina spoke next when I raised my face and saw Lola crouching down in front of me, the rest of the girls all around me.

"We're here for you, Azalea. Whether it's your wedding, your birthday, your baby shower or the birth of your children, we'll always be here for you. Always." Lola spoke softly, wiping my tears away when I nodded and hugged her tightly, the rest joining in the group hug as we stayed like that for a few moments.

"I think I'm suddenly not straight anymore." Reina spoke from beside me, making me laugh through the tears as Sam clicked her tongue.

"R.I.P Anthony. Poor kid, he was a nice guy." Sam commented with a grin when we all laughed at her collectively.

"I liked him, he didn't deserve this." Nikki agreed as we smiled at each other and I looked at all of them gratefully.

"I don't know what I'd do without you guys, Thank you, so, so much." My voice cracked at the end and I saw them all smile at me warmly.
