I sat in my room with my guitar and sing book trying to figure out a song to write. Gianna was somewhere hanging out with Nate, I think they are on their first official date, and Jack is somewhere doing something.
All I have is, the day we first met. And I can't thinking anything else. "Ugh who knew song writing was this hard?" I said to myself and threw my guitar to the other side and the bed and placed my song book to the side of me.
I walk down the stairs to the kitchen to get a snack, "hey sweetie, aren't you trying to write a song?" My mom asked.
"Yeah. I just came down to get a quick snack" I tell my mom. I grab a cola out of the fridge and make a plate of strawberries.
"Well this is your 5th time coming down to get a 'snack' so I'm guessing it's not going well?" She said.
I laughed a little. "Mom, I have one verse. That's it, I didn't think it would be this hard."
"Well Hun, it takes time. And effort. You don't just start a song in one day and finish it that same day." She tells me.
"But I've been working on it for like 2 hours."
"The only advice I can give you is to keep trying. What are you writing about?"
"Um love song. About Jack." I say.
"He's a great inspiration. And why don't you ask him for help?" She asked me.
"Because it's supposed to be a surprise. And honestly this will probably end up being a birthday surprise." I say.
"Well if you give the song to him on his birthday I'm sure he will love it" she tells me. "And if it is for his birthday you will have plenty of time to write it since it's not until September."
"I guess." I tell her just as the doorbell rings.
She looks at me. "Are you going to get it?"
"Oh yeah, of course." I say sarcastically, setting my half eaten plate of strawberries on the counter and head towards the door.
"Hi Bree." Jack says as I opened the door.
"Um hey Jack, you didn't tell me you wee coming over here." I say. "So um, what are you doing here?"
"Well I see you don't want me here." He says sarcastically and laughed, "but I came to give you your locker and necklace. I forgot to give it back the other day."
"Oh thanks. And it's not that I didn't want you here, it's just that I was busy and you came over with no warning." I say.
"Busy doing what?" He wondered.
"Um I can't tell you." I say.
"Why not?"
"Because it's a secret."
"But we tell each other everything."
"Did you tell me about your haircut?"
"I did the day after it happened."
"Well I can't tell you about this for another 57 days." I say.
"Soooo can I come in or are we gonna stand here and argue about it?" He asked.
"Um yeah sure come in." I say and closed the door behind him.
"BREE WHO WAS IT?" My mom yelled from the kitchen.
"Um Jack." I yelled back.
"WHO?" She asked as she walked in the living room. "Oh."
"Um yeah." I said.
"Why are you both acting weird? Am I missing something?" Jack asked.
"Let's just go up to my room." I tell him.
We walk upstairs to my room and he sees my song book and guitar laying on my bed. "You were writing a song?"
He tried grabbing my book but I got in before he did. "I tried, but it's really hard."
"Well maybe I can help you?" He offered and sat on the bed.
"No, I'll work on it myself."
"Why can't I help? The songs not about me is it?" He asked.
I paused for a few seconds and he said, "awe the song is about me."
"No it's not."
"Princess I know when you are lying so I suggest stop lying to me."
I laughed a little. "Fine the song is about you. That's why you can't help."
"But I want to."
"Well that's too bad." I said teasing a little and sat next to him.
"If I can't help you then you won't get a kiss until the song is finished." He tells me.
"That's fine, I'll just steal a kiss. And you know you can't resist not kissing me." I joked.
"Yeah your right." He smiled and made his lips into a kissy face leaning towards me. I put my hand on his mouth and laughed.
"Bree?!" He said a little mad but still laughed.
"Yes Jacky?" I ask.
"Can I pretty pretty pretty please have a kiss?" He asked.
"Well since you asked soooo nicely."
Just as we were about to kiss someone knocked on my door. "Bree?" Hayes asked.
"What?" I asked.
"Nash and me have to be somewhere and mom and dad are about to leave so can you watch Sky?"
"Um yeah sure. Bring her in here before you all leave." I say and Hayes walks away.
"Oooooh the house to ourselves." Jack says coming closer to me.
"Plus Sky." I tell him pushing him back a little.
"I can't believe we have like a month left of summer." He says.
"I'm glad. I honestly can't wait for school to start, and that's not like me." I say.
"Yeah your gonna be a Junior and I'm gonna be a Senior." He says as we lean on the bed frame at the top of my bed and he puts his arm around me.
"We can go to homecoming together, prom, any other school dances, and we can go to each other's games."
"No I'm taking my mom to homecoming and prom. I did the first 3 years." He says trying to be serious but I just give him a glare. "I'm joking I didn't take my mom to school dances. And of course I'm going to spend my senior year with the 2nd most important girl in my life."
I start blushing a lot. "I'm the 2nd most important girl in your life?"
"Duh!" He says. "Two months with my baby girl. I think this is honestly the happiest I've ever been."
I blush even more that I start getting chills. "Your so cute when you blush. No wait, your cute no matter what you're doing."
"Omg Jack stop! My face is probably a tomato now!" I say still blushing.
"Yeah it's pretty close." He says smiling big.
I give him a long passionate kiss, I think it was going on for about five minutes, and we didn't stop until Sky came bursting through my door.
