We got to the hospital, jumped out the car and rushed to the front desk. "Taylor McCombs room please." I said to the lady at the front desk.
"You can't go in there right now, she's having treatment. You can wait out here with everyone else." She said back.
I look over to see Taylor's family and all of my friends sitting and pacing around in the waiting room. "Can you at least tell me if she's going to be okay?" I asked.
She looked at me with sorrow, "Hun, we don't know yet. The doctor should be out here shortly with the results. Right now all you can do is wait and hope for the best."
"Okay. Thank you." I said walking to the waiting room. "Hey you guys are okay." I said to Nicole and Maya.
"Yeah, just a broken wrist is all." Maya said and then we all hugged each other.
"So what happened? How did you guys get in a car accident?" I asked.
"Taylor was still really upset about the trip and she felt sorry about the Jess thing and she kinda felt responsible for it and when we were leaving your house she was speeding and she wasn't paying attention and she crashed right into a semi truck. Taylor was going straight and ran a red light and the semi was going the way that had the green light and ran right into us." Nicole explained.
"So she was on the right side and you both were on the left side and the semi hit the car on the right side? That's why Taylor is mostly injured?" I asked.
They both nod and we all share a hug. After the hug I look over at Carter who's as worried as I am. He had his head down and I walked over to sit by him. "You okay?" I asked.
"No. My girlfriend was just in a car accident because she was worried about you and Jess's problems, and blaming herself for them." He said looking up and in a kinda harsh way.
"Carter I know. And I'm sorry. But it's not my fault. It's no ones fault. Not even Jessica's. But we just need to hope for the best. I believe she's going to be okay." I said to him.
"Me too." He said. "And I also want to thank you."
"For what?" I scoffed.
"For setting Taylor and me up. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't even be dating her. Thanks Bree." He said.
"No problem." I said to him and then we both hugged, "do you want me to stay with you until the doctor comes out? Keep you company?"
"No. You go wait with Jack, or with the other girls. I'll be fine by myself until the results come." He said.
I didn't want to leave Carter sad here by himself so I liked at Jack who was already looking at me and motioned for him to come over here. As soon as he came over to us. The doctor came out to talk to us. "Miss McCombs family?" And we all stood up.
"Family and Friends." Her mom said to him.
"I'm just looking for the family." The doctor said.
"We are all her family." Her dad said back. I glanced over at her dad then smiled a little and then looked back at the doctor.
"Um okay then." He said a little confused. "Miss McCombs will be fine" we cut him off and we all were relieve. He continued to say, "but she does have a couple sprains and a few scars."
He shows us several x-rays of her right leg and if her left arm. "She will be in a wheel chair being that she can't hold crunches with a sprained arm." He said then continued. "She should be all better in about 8 weeks so 2 months. Meaning the rest of summer and few weeks into the school year. There is a possibility she will heal early though."
"So is she coming home today?" I asked.
"We already put her cast on her leg and arm and but no. She has to stay over night because she lost so much blood from her cuts." He said.
"Can we go see her?" Maya asked.
"Yes, but there is a limit on how many people can be in there at a time. So let's just start with her family. Um her actual family." He said. Taylor's parents and her little sister followed the doctor to Taylor's room. And the rest of us sat down. The doctor comes back out and says, "Um Breeanna and Carter? Miss McCombs would like to see you both right now as well."
Me and Carter stood up and followed him down the hall to Taylor's room. Room 144.
