Chapter 39

"Hey Taylor." I said walking through the door.

"Oh you don't knock anymore?" She teased. "What are you doing here?"

"I can't come see my best friend? First you complain about never seeing me and now you don't even want me here."

"That's so not true." She says.

I laugh. "I know. I came because you know, us girls always came over before parties to get ready."

"Yeah, I just thought you would come later. But I'm glad you remember, because if you come over my house in Jack's clothes it kinda makes me worried about your clothing choices lately." She says still teasing.

"Oh shut up. I haven't really had time to change, or shower to be honest." I say.

"Oh that's what smelled."

"You just have all of the jokes today." We both laughed. "But how is your leg doing? I know you've been doing physical therapy."

"It's actually going great. I healed faster than I thought." Taylor told me.

"Yeah

"So what's the latest with Breeanna Grier?" She asked.

"Um nothing just typical teenage stuff you know? Getting proposed to, sleeping over at boyfriends house, parents leaving, and almost fighting with my brothers girlfriend."

"Wait what?" She chuckled, "Jack asked you to marry him?"

"Uh yeah. Loooong story, honestly everything I listed is a long story."

"Um okay then." She said laughing.

"Hey um, do you know where Gianna is? I didn't see her at home this morning." I said.

"I think she spent the night at Maya's? Or Nicole's? I don't know. She actually seemed a little upset last night, I think she misses Nate." Taylor said.

"Yeah long distance is hard." I told her.

"What? You're making that face when you have a secret to tell but can't. So what is it?"

"I can't tell you, I promised. But you will find out on Monday." I say.

"Come on, tell me, we're best friends. We are supposed to tell other people's secrets." She begged.

"I promised I wouldn't say anything, to anyone."

"Fine keep your secret. Even though you know I hate secrets, I can't wait to find out what it is." She said.

"Speaking of Monday, our schedules should come today so we will find out if we have classes together or not." I say.

"Actually, this year I want I wait until the first day of school, we won't find out until we walk into our class and see. But I did make sure we all had the same lunch, all of our friends." She says.

I laughed, "seriously? How did you pull that off?"

"Oh I do it every year, I have my ways." She smiled.

"I actually can't believe it's the end of summer. I mean I was really excited for this school year. But now I'm scared." I say. "Like this is my first official year at this school. Last year, and every other before that, Jess and us girls entered the school year together and there were no worries."

"Well you have new friends to go into the school year with. Don't worry, you'll be fine, and it'll be fun." She said.

I nod and there was a pause.

"Hmm, it's 5:00, the girls are late." she said.

*knock knock*

"Well I'm guessing that's them. I'll get it." I say walking towards the door.

"Hey girls." I say.

"Hey Bree, hey Taylor." They say walking through the door.

"oh Bree, Nash already dropped Sky off at my place and I'm pretty sure she's spending the night so that's settled." Maya said.

"Okay great." I say.

We go upstairs to Taylor's room and start trying on clothes to wear, it was like a fashion show. We finally decided on our outfits(left to right: Bree, Nicole, Taylor, Maya, Gianna).

6:30.

We start straightening each other's hair, Taylor straightens mines, I straighten Gianna's, Gianna straightens Nicole's, Nicole straightens Maya's and Maya straightens Taylor's.

7:45.

We have 15 minutes until the party starts and we still have to do our makeup.

8:15.

"Okay everyone ready?" Taylor asked.

"Yeah. Let's go." Nicole said.

We get in Taylor's car and drive to 564 Venice Blvd.
